Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'd like to see Keanu in a more physical role in the MCU since Reeves seems to have embraced his concept of 21st century Buster Keaton in the John Wick franchise. Ideally, a thought could be to have him as Taskmaster in a Black Widow film.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."The idea of using Black Widow's prequel film to set up plot points for other characters to deal with in films she's too dead to contribute to leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
It's bad enough to pointlessly kill her off and relegate her to one obligatory prequel appearance before washing your hands of her forever. Turning her film into Iron Man 2 is just adding insult to injury.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
Eh, I kinda feel like her movie always was gonna be a prequel anyway. And to be frank I don't get why people wanted her to have a movie so hard. A movie focused on her, again, wouldn't bring much new to the table. Though I guess she will have one after all, so we knows.

Seems a bit silly to interpret that statement that way. Feige says "this film will introduce new and bold elements for the future of the MCU" for almost every single new MCU movie. Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel...
He just spun that statement to prequel potential.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Someone who saw FFH let slip a hint regarding the post-credits scene.
Vague spoilers. Click at your own risk.
I'm hearing it's (legitimate possible spoiler) J.K. Simmons back as Jameson.
But I couldn't tell you if that's true.

This song needs more love.Feige says that the rumor that Killmonger would be returning in the Black Panther sequel is just a rumor[1]
. Ryan recently started writing it and will share what he has soon. No mention of cowriter Joe Robert Cole returning.
Technically, it's not impossible for him to reappear in some kind of flashback.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, there's one other dude who could be put on that list, but he's a spoiler.
But yeah, it takes a big man to compliment the dude who just put a knife in your heart. And Eric just keeps going from there.
One Strip! One Strip!

I think we talked about it before, but Marvel Studios REALLY wants Keanu Reeves in the MCU.
Also, they're now discussing how to bring in the mutants into the MCU. And that rumor that Deadpool could first appear in a Spider-Man movie? C'est bogus.
