Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm reminded of the old myth that Augustus demanded that August have the same number of days as July so they stole one from February.
It's not true but I choose to believe it because that's hilariously petty.
This song needs more love.Thursday, Wednesday, Friday? What are you guys talking about? Are you talking about Thanosday, Mawsday and Cullday? Or do you mean Proximonday? Maybe Glaiveday? You guys must come from some weird alternate reality where The Great Titan is not our only guide.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Tessa Thompson pitches a Thor-Valkyrie-Captain Marvel rom com.
"I thought Thor was being shipped with Captain Marvel?" Hemsworth replied.
"That's why I'm saying let's make a love triangle!" she said. "Oh my gosh, let's make an MCU thriller, like a — you know those old 90s... who's gonna be with who? It could be light! It could be just a rom com about the three of us."
"Or like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle," he added, to which she responded with an enthusiastic, "Yes!"
Also, Elizabeth Hurley joins the cast of Runaways
as Morgan le Fey. I'm intrigued. Hurley is a big enough actress that she could play Morgan le Fey in the movies, too. And Le Fey has never really been an enemy of the Runaways either, so I wonder if they are going to go in a different, more magic-based direction next season? They are certainly going to team up with Cloak and Dagger, as per C&D's last episode.

RDJ, trying to pull a Tony Stark in real life, announces the Footprint Coalition to combat climate change by investing in technology
. I wish them good luck, although I personally question if it's the most effective means of doing so.
Offended for the last time, Odin comes back from the dead to square up with Thanos.
Odin: You. Took. Everything from me.
Thanos: I don't even know who you are.
This song needs more love.- Romans: Let's see, we've got days for the Sun and the Moon.
- Loki: Yes....
- Romans: Then we have Tyr's Day.
- Loki: Uh-huh.
- Romans: Odin's Day. Thor's Day.
- Loki: Right, right. Go on.
- Romans: Frigga's Day. Hmm....
- Loki: (grin) You're missing one.
- Romans: Odin and Frigga. Odin's sons Tyr and Thor. There's a pattern here.
- Loki: There is.
- Romans: So then the last day....
- Loki: Yes?
- Romans: Shall be Saturn's Day!
- Loki: WHAT?!
- Romans: Praise be to the lord of Olympus!
Reed would be a decent choice. Antman 1&2 show he can do some inventive visual stunts and gags (c.f. The growing and shrinking, quantum realm) and can do good family scenes as well - as in Scott's family, not the Pyms who are just messed all the way up.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."It also makes sense because Peyton Reed was in the running to make the FF film back when they were first making it at Fox
:
“I developed it for about a year and we went through some different permutations and some different writers, but yes, one of the big ideas was a set-in-the-’60s thing that at the time was structurally gonna be basically like [The Beatles’] A Hard Day’s Night, where we were not going to even deal with the origin story,” said Reed.

The big thing from Ant-Man that would especially be great for Fantastic Four is the creation of amazing, fantasical environments - both of their own cloth, and sometimes by reimagining mundane situations from a creative perspective.
The FF should be able to make an antimatter dimension and a land underneath the Earth equally awesome simply to travel through.

It'd also make more sense to me that we begin months on the solstices and equinoxes instead of having them two-thirds of the way through. Then each season has three whole months instead of two full months and two pieces of other months.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
