Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I saw Gamora going to Knowhere as Revenge Before Reason. Sometimes you just really want to stab Thanos.

This song needs more love.Every failure of the characters in Infinity War can be traced directly to their character arcs and established traits. This is good writing. They don't do what would make the most sense if they knew they were characters in a heroic story; they do what they think they should do, with incomplete knowledge, emotional attachments, and ego.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Vision succeeded because Joss Whedon has a less-than-subtle boner for Tony Stark.
My various fanfics.Vision succeeded because he's a character from the comics that they wanted to incorporate.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersVision succeeded because of Thor.
Also, there wasn't a crazy AI in the mind stone anymore, so that probably helped.
Edit: Also, just found this:
Works pretty well I'd say.

One Strip! One Strip!...So, when everybody was trying to get the gauntlet off of thanos and thanos let slip that he sacrificed Gammora for the Soul Gem, would Quill merely shooting him in his head with his laser pistol have worked instead of hitting him?
You know, how a pistol of any type is meant to work? With projectiles and not as a club?
Because I recollect shouting at him to shoot him with it when I saw that.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Given everything else that Thanos pretty much walked off, I have a hard time believing that Peter's basic-ass pistols would have hurt him.
My various fanfics....It just occurred to me....
....Stark Tower is empty....
...and there's a certain family known for living in a tower....
Something to keep in mind for when they get back.
One Strip! One Strip!...I mean, I know it probably wouldn't have blown thanos's brains away. I'm merely curious if shooting him have been worse then beating thanos with it, which is how thanos got control over the Infinity Gauntlet again and left everybody there to rot?
...I'm not sure you can take the thing with no trouble.

Really it was foolish to try to beat Thanos anywhere when he can instantly warp somewhere with the Space Stone that they knew he had. But I buy that the Guardians wouldn't, after hearing that the Power Stone had been taken and Xandar had been half wrecked, just abandon Knowhere too.
It would have been pragmatic to consider it already lost and find somewhere to stash Gamora but thats not the kind of person Gamora was or the Guardians were.
And thats the reason why she didn't go with Thor or anywhere else even though it would have been smarter.
