Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I don't really know why he was such a popular choice for Doom.
Most of the roles I've seen him in have him be soft-spoken and calm while Doom is the very exact opposite of that.

This song needs more love.I wish they used MCU villains more than once before killing them off. I know there are exceptions, but fir the most part villains die in the movie they're introduced in, which kind of removes the potential for then to be used in the future. The biggest example j can think of is killing off Klaue in Black Panther. Andy Serkis was amazing in the role and it would have been great to see him in more movies, so it was dissapointing the way they killed him
Klaue was used more than once
Still, I understand the thought process. Each hero gets three movies and maybe teamup movies
Most heroes have a varied and interesting rogues gallery. Why piddle around with the same guy when you only get three goes?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm kind of hoping Dormammu takes Kaecilliu's form to act when he comes back, since the general implication of the film is that Dormammu has no fixed form of his own (and hence why he's played by Benedict Cumberbatch and vaguely resembles him: Dormammu took Strange's form when he came to his realm). So Mads gets to play a genuine threat.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Here’s a thought. Bats the talking ghost dog should be in the movies
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Kaecillius being woefully undercooked gets bonus negative points for wasting Mads Mikkelsen ;p
