Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm a little late to this convo but:
I also love this line. That being said...
Now this is a Fantastic Four theme. It always felt kinda majestic to me.
One Strip! One Strip!I feel like that would have been a colossal casting misstep, much as I love Hemsworth.
Gambit's supposed to be this lithe trickster figure, deft of hand and word. Hemsworth, on the other hand, has carved out a wonderful niche for himself as a muscular god among men who can make the planet swoon with a single flex of his biceps.
Hemsworth's done great work with that archetype over the course of his career, up to and including his character-defining work as Thor. But it's not Gambit's archetype, y'know?

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.And it would work too. Because if Bullseye can kill a man by throwing a playing card, then Thor can crack a building in half with one. He just has to learn the hand movement.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Gambit retires in shame
If Thor can kill buildings with playing cards and seduce people just by flexing then what call is there for Gambit anymore?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYou tink there’s accent honor among tieves? Oh mon ami, Gambit’s name is gambit, neh?

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI still almost wish they had gone ahead with the concept of casting none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme as Gambit.
(X-Men are in the thickest of battles against the Brotherhood. Suddenly they hear a bizarre accent and a soothing music in the distance. They snap their heads to look.)
(the battle screeches to a halt as everybody stares in awe.)
(both trucks then explode with kinetic energy at the Brotherhood. Gambit lands on his feet).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I figure I might as well post this here:
Square Enix's Avengers game will be revealed on June 10th.
No, it is not. Tony's birthday is hard to pin down, especially since Marvel has published different dates at different times, but this date can be excluded because it isn't close enough to when the race in Monte Carlo usually happens.
Also, this review...I mean, it is the Guardian, not exactly a place which I seek out for this kind of thing, but honestly, that is the oddest complain I ever heard. "how dare they to do a story about technicalities, I want to see superheroes fight each other over some female heroine as if she is a piece of meat." (double funny once you consider that the technicalities are just a starting point and the movie ends with Tony and Steve fighting over Bucky).

You guys are serious overestimating the average audience's ability to care. I doubt anyone is even thinking much about Fant4stic at the moment.
And the MCU brand is so big and trusted now, people will go definitely go see a new FF movie if it takes place in the MCU.
