Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I would not be opposed to Danny Devito making an appearance in the MCU, maybe in a more wholesome role than what he does in Always Sunny, since he's reportedly a pretty wholesome and nice guy in Real Life. I would be opposed to Danny Devito as Wolverine, since he looks nothing like Wolverine.

I'd be very intrigued to see how the MCU handles Sentinels. The franchise has always employed a respectful Pragmatic Adaptation, so I'm curious to see what they'd come up with.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
x 10. Actually, my ideal actor would be Terry Crews. Just Race Lift Ben Grimm (he's not related to any of the other FF members so you dont have to make any changes to the backstory). Dont you want to hear Terry yell "It's Clobberin Time!" (actually, Terry Crews can make ANYTHING good, he was one of the highlights of that American Gladiators ripoff Battle Dome).
Terry Crews as Ben would work I think.
He might also make a good Luke Cage, though losing Mike Colter would be a damned shame.
One Strip! One Strip!I'd rather they try to cast an actor of Jewish descent if they can help it. Grimm being a practicing Jew is something is something that receives play in the comics and is embedded within his character and its reference to the Golem. If he's not going to be Jewish then they should at least come up with some kind of cultural analogue for the Golem aspect in order to avoid overt erasure.

New petition to make Danny DeVito the new Wolverine.
