Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Kari Skogland to direct ''The Falcon and the Winter Soldier''.
Zemo and Sharon are slated to be in it.

I don't think that tracks when we got another Catwoman eight years later.

Yes, because that piece of crap was too concerned about setting up its own sequels and spinoffs than about cohering in any meaningful way.
EDIT: I hate everybody who makes me use

Some quick Googling shows that Amelia Rose Blaire is 31 years old. Anyone thinking we're going to get that one scene from the Ultimate Spider-Man comic where Felicia tries to you-know-what with Peter and she does you-know-what-else when she finds how old he is?

Eh...you're right, we don't need that.
RE: Falcon and the Winter Soldier: We should be expecting the show to drop onto Disney+ by August 2020. All 6 episodes are being directed by Kari Skogland, whose references include directing episodes of Boardwalk Empire, Vikings, The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, House of Cards, The Handmaid's Tale, and funnily enough, The Punisher.

I'm not familiar enough with Stogland's work but hey, never hurts to have another female director.
Zemo appearing again is like, okay cool I guess, but Sharon, eh? Here's hoping she gets un-bungled this time.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)
I was expecting them to do something with Zemo during Infinity War or Endgame, but I guess the bigger fish named Thanos needed frying first.
Think they'll have Sam suiting up into something more patriotic
by the last episode?

Considering that she will be free from the context of being an obligatory love interest, she can function mainly as their go-to US government contact. Assuming she somehow escaped any consequences from her role in the events of Civil War of course, which the movies never technically got around to establishing.
The only thing I know Amelia Rose Blaire from is Detroit: Become Human and the gaming streams she does with her husband. Would be an interesting case of Retroactive Recognition for fans if so.
Could be a good opportunity to give Sharon the fleshing out she never got in the movies, and help her break out of the shadow of being little more than a Designated Love Interest and Replacement Goldfish for Peggy. Although, if Sharon does end up in an awkward romantic relationship with Sam (the inheritor to her former love interest's mantle) or Bucky (her former love interest's damsel/brother/dark mirror and fellow centigenarian) would it still be creepy?

The execution behind the klyntar was bad but the concept could have been good

Forever liveblogging the AvengersFelicitous news about the Far From Home casting.
Also cool details about the Falcoln and Bucky show. My only hope is that this isn't going to mean that those characters are out of the movies for good. But it makes a lot of sense to have Zemo and Sharon Carter. Kind of reminds me of how Agent Carter sort of did classic Tony Stark (morally ambiguous playboy fighting Dirty Communists) stories with Howard Stark. And it seems similarly fitting to do classic Captain America stories ( Zemo as Big Bad and Agent 13 as a major supporting character) with Falcoln and Bucky.

Metacritic's cast list for Far From Home may have spoiled a certain character's appearance.
It lists Amelia Rose Blaire
as Felicia Hardy/Black Cat.
