Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

> I can't wait until the Beyonders show up and say, "What's up, bitches."
I'm fine with just one Byonder showing up like they did in the spiderman cartoon,an entire race of them would be overkill
Although, the absence of Marvel's comic deities in the Cinematic Universe leads me to believe they won't ever appear
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverA few celestials have shown up
One as a decapitated head and one in a flashback film reel
Forever liveblogging the AvengersLuck!
A thing I’ve been thinking about that isn’t a spoiler is looking at how Wanda kept taking level ups in power as time went on movie by movie AOU to Civil War to Infinty War, do you think Pietro’s powers would have also evolved had he lived?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThere’s space between where Pietro was in AOU to more ludicrous feats like what he pulls in Ultimates 2 what he pulls in Days of Future Past and more comic booky Flash nonsense
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEndgame has already made $1.2 billion globally.
I guess this is what happens when you made a film that's a culmination to a decade-long franchise that a lot of people love: it breaks all of the records.
I heard Geek and Gamers made a video about how Brie Larson had taken an Humble Pie or something. What's the ridiculous story behind it this time?
350 million dollars in the NA box office and over a billion worldwide...that's mind-bogglingly insane.
Prior to this weekend it was kind of an unanswered question as to wether it was even possible for a movie, let alone a 3 hour movie, to crack 300 million opening weekend. The fact is there's a finite number of theaters in NA who have a finite number of screenings in a given weekend. At some point there's just no more tickets that can be sold.
For Endgame to blow straight past 300 million to 350 million is something I don't think anyone was predicting. Barring a nasty case of hyperinflation I fully expect Endgame's record to stand for at least a decade.
Endgame had the widest domestic opening weekend ever (largest # of theatres) and apparently accounted for about 90% of the weekend’s box office.
So yes, that record is unlikely to be beat anytime soon. It’s basically what you get when every theatre is playing your movie nonstop on virtually every screen, and all the showings are peetty much sold out.
Yeah, there's speculation that Endgame has approached the limit of how many people you can physically cram into theaters to watch the same film in a weekend.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

If the movie Stones operate any way like the comics ones, making the Gauntlet eliminate "half the life in the universe" probably wouldn't work on Dormammu. He's not from the universe.
