Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The search results number also rapidly depletes by half.
Anyway, just got back from seeing Endgame. Won't spoil anything, obviously, but I'm pretty satisfied and ready to call it a wrap on everything the past 11 years of the MCU built.
By the way, if you're trying to avoid Endgame spoilers, don't go and see Endgame. It totally spoils all of Endgame.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Regarding "An unbridles Meh"....Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is a honest played. I make the same mistake in the past, but I eventually figured out that this is just a case of someone being less obvious with his questionable point of view. This guy also did a Black Panther review which seemed to be reasonable, but was pretty much a collection of Anti-SJW talking points repackaged under a "I am just more critical towards Superhero movies because I am oh so smart about movies" veneer. In this case, the company you keep betrays you, because this particular creator often collaborates with people who are more openly anti-SJW (like world class Bullshitters, and yes, the name fits in this case really well) and spends a LOT of time taking apart the videos of people who dare to like The Last Jedi.
In this case, though, just the use of the thumbnail makes his bias pretty obvious. A better reviewer wouldn't use a picture like this, period.
And Carol is NOT a wooden plank and she does NOT character development. For the record, even if she didn't, You Tube reviewers are overly obsessed with character development anyway. Steve's very point is that he never changes for example, and he is by far not the only famous movie character for whom that is the case. But Carol does change. She changes by reclaiming her agency and her identity, but she also changes her outlook on how "meaningful" it really is to be a soldier.
I'm also kind of shocked about how many reviewers criticize the fact that Yon-Rogg tells Carol to "control her emotions," but she doesn't appear to need to do so, because...that's the point. Like, literally, that is the point of what he's doing — he's controlling her by controlling what she thinks is wrong with her.

There isn't anything particularly LGBTQ friendly re: Adam Warlock in the comics but that could change in any film adaptation. The Eternals on the other hand is where the big LGBTQ diversity push is meant to be taking place.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."By the way, fun fact, you know how so many people tried to prove Captain Marvel was hated and flopped by saying they went to the cinema and so nobody at the theater room? Well, since they like sharing their personal experience so much as proof, I'll do the same: when I went to see Endgame, people in the room cheered Carol every single time she shew up onscreen. Truly this is a character people hate.
Yeah, Endgame definitely presents Carol's moments as cheer-worthy. I will say, if anything, that she's not in the film enough. Admittedly, this is all about the OG Avengers, so there's no need for her to steal the spotlight.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I wouldn't say so. I have not said anything specific. But I won't go any further.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"> I don't think that Detective Pikachu will hurt Endgame any. Not because Detective Pikachu will do poorly, I hope it does amazing, I hope they both do amazing.
> Pikachu uses thunderbolt on Thanos
>Thanos laughs and laughs before dropping a mountain on him
have a listen and have a link to my discord server

By the way, I highly recommend Googling "Thanos" and then clicking the image of the Infinity Gauntlet that appears on the right hand side.
