Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I just had a silly thought.
With Avengers End Game coming out, I just realized that if this were the comics, they could have solved the whole thing ages ago, by just having Squirrel Girl threaten to kick his butt with her army of Squirrels again.

Saw an Endgame spoiler in a completely unrelated online discussion. I looked away quickly enough that I'm not even sure of what I saw, and while I'm not a huge fan of spoilers I have long ago accepted that it'll happen sometimes because I'm too nosy for my own good (like, why do I read tropes pages for shows I haven't finished?). But I am baffled as to why people waste their time doing this shit when it serves no purpose or enrich their lives in any way. What is the point?
Alternatively, Goose the Cat teleports in and eats the Infinity Gauntlet (and/or Thanos).

Apparently Disney has been warned by lawyers to not even begin thinking about new content for Daredevil, Luke Cage, JJ, Iron Fist, and Punisher until after 2 years[1]
Honestly that might be a good thing. There is a lot they need to sort out first regarding the MCU after Endgame. I honestly have zero idea how Ao S will even deal with it.

Here? Not anytime soon. You might have noticed that we are still careful not to spoil Captain Marvel either.
There is a separate spoiler discussion for Avengers Endgame. We are still using mostly spoiler tags there, too, but I guess we will drop them sometimes next week, once the movie has been released everywhere and everyone had a reasonable chance to see it.
