Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Once they introduce the Eternals, everything's on the table. Then they can Hand Wave everything as "Celestial interference." Subterranean people? Celestials did it. Sunken Atlantis? Celestials did it. That place in Antarctica that's actually filled with dinosaurs? Well...okay, the Celestials didn't do that one, it was the alien Nuwali acting under orders from the Beyonders. But still!
Small and most likely unnecessary warning, but just in case: If you watch no-spoiler reviews, DON'T look into the comment section and DON'T leave a comment yourself. Or, just don't leave a comment on any MCU related video at all. Trolls are all out there answering to every comment they can with major spoilers.
Yeah, I'm not reading any comments at all on YouTube videos. Or...any comments on anything, really.
God, I'm glad I'm seeing Endgame tomorrow. Then I won't need to tiptoe around everything. It reminds me of when I was going to watch the Buffy series finale and my brother decided to be a troll and yell out "Spike dies!"
Last comic of Thanos prepping for Endgame from Wooden Plank Studios.
While I wait for Endgame to be a thing that exists for me (it's not important until I watch it), I'm re-watching The Incredible Hulk.
This movie seems to be one of the black sheep of the MCU besides Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but I still like it.
Mainly because I'm near positive I was the first one to realize that Blonsky's actions, while off the rails in terms of Ross's plot, made complete sense within the context of how the Super-Soldier formula actually works.
Yeah, it was making him crazier, because that's what happens when you give it to the wrong person. It did exactly what it was supposed to do: increase everything in him, including his Blood Knight tendencies. Even then, it wasn't until Captain America: The First Avenger that we first receive an understanding of how the formula works, and I didn't make the connection until years later while re-watching either this or First Avenger.
Not only that, someone I know just pointed out that this movie ties into Captain America: Civil War: Ross ultimately wants the heroes to sign in order to use them as weapons....which is exactly why he wants Banner in this movie, which is funny, since the messes he caused in this is one of the few disasters not referenced in his little video montage in Civil War (not a shock really).
One Strip! One Strip! As was recently reinforced to me, always be mindful of who the narrator is
And framing always has an agenda
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, it is one of the few movie which hasn't turned up yet in any of the "Most Marvellous scene" videos...and they covered pretty much every important Hulk scene from all the other movies.
I think at this point they featured nearly every movie except TIH and the Ant-man movies (which is kind of a shame). There is even one vid which is practically a love letter to Justin Hammer.
So apparently, Samuel L Jackson
was asked what he favorite current comic book was...and he stated it was Southern Bastards. Which, I mean, fuck yeah, that book's awesome. But CBR is somehow surprised that SLJ didn't say a Marvel comic? Which...why would he? Jackson is a certified comic book nerd — he reads Image or Dark Horse probably just as much as he does Marvel. I still remember when Joss Whedon and Jackson were being interviewed together, Jackson made a reference to The Pro. Now there's a deep cut.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, the green parts are safe, the purple ones are not.
Not...sure what I did wrong, but I apologize.

Sorry, that wasn't aimed at you, it was more general annoyance about what passes as "news" for CBR. I mean, I know that they are kind of limited due to them focussing specifically on Comic books, but for one, I really don't care which actor like which comic book (or any at all for that matter) and even if I would care, I would never assume that they are specifically into something related to the role they happen to play. In fact, while it is cool to be the inspiration for a comic book character, I think it must be kind of weird to read the adventures of said character.
Yes, but CBR is one of the worst of them. They are experts in turning every harmless remarks into clickbait or writing long articles about basically nothing. I really despise this site.
And I second the stupid lists. Nothing against the draw of a top ten, but if you do this, put some effort into it.

Characters who can beat up Thanos:
Please sing to this tune:
Here's a Carol, there's a Carol
And another little Carol
Fuzzy Carol, funny Carol
Carol, Carol, Goose
Carol, Carol, Talos, Carol
Pager, cat, Tesseract, Carol
Carol, Carol, punching Carol
Carol, Carol, Goose
I was once a Kree house
I lived in a cage
But then I failed to save the day
And Thanos made me rage
I was only gone for a while
But he made a snap
And now listen little child
To the safety rap
Did you ever see a Carol
Kiss a Carol on the Carol
Carol's Carol tastes of Carol
Carol, Carol, Goose
Half a Carol, twice the Carol
Not a Carol, farmer, Carol
Carol in a car
Alarm a Carol, Carol, Goose
Is that how it's goes now?
Can we save the day?
Is it made of all the stones?
Spider-Man says nay.
Now my song is getting thin
I've run out of juice
Time for me to retire now
And become a Goose.
...I'm so sorry.

Yeah...honestly, I have currently no idea what the MCU will do next. I first need some more information to get an idea how they intend to deal with the future of the MCU.
