Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In fairness Tony didn’t not know that his true power was his beastly brain
He just needed a bit of time to endure some Avengers ptsd before he was ready to start macguyvering some nonsense weapons while waiting for his suit to charge
With Thor, they don’t really address this much but his dad really fucked up and let Thor get the idea that he was only powerful and worthy with Mjolnir. It’s all well and good to teach someone the value of not starting realm wars but Odin kinda fucked up both his sons. And likely his daughter
Odin’s kind of a bad dad!

Forever liveblogging the Avengers> “Take away the heroes powers for the whole movie to prove their strength comes from them, not their powers.
I feel it's due to their budget involved, greenscreens and computer wizardry cost
"We don't have the money for them to use their superpowers for the whole movie, let's go half way and say they lose their superpowers or something"
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverYeah, they did a nice inverse of the story in Captain Marvel. Which is a good thing, considering that they already did it three times (remember, even Peter had to learn that "if he is nothing without his suit, he shouldn't have it").
I think we have now well established that all our heroes don't need any crutches. Time to move on.
I mean that by movie three of Thor and Iron Man they have the money for superpowers
And it’s not like Thor Ragnarok was light on action and special effects after he lost his hammer
Forever liveblogging the AvengersCourtesy of the Late Show: The cast of the Avengers answer a variety of questions about themselves and the upcoming Endgame film.
A movie where Carol’s powers are absorbed by Rogue would be a good vehicle for a Carol-trains-Photon movie: Carol is laid out just before the climax, and I’m he final stretch of the film Monica has to figure out how to prevent the same thing from happening to her while getting through to an increasingly unstable Rogue.
Or it could stay strictly on Carol, while she doesn’t have to get depowered at all. They could treat it like a Parasite plot with Superman: she gets her powers back in due time, but Rogue keeps he power she’s taken and Carol has to figure out how to defeat her without putting herself at risk.
Most of the time they're obnoxious, but this particular one was really cute, I really liked it.
Man, what if there's actually a scene of Ant-Man going into Thanos's body and trying to kill him from the inside? It's not that far-fetched of an idea, it's just the butt part that makes it a meme, and he could just go into Thanos's ear, or nose.
Like, there was even a scene in Civil War when Ant-Man went into Iron Man's suit to break some of the sensitive electronics, so it's not even a concept foreign to the MCU.
IIRC Beast Boy did it to SatanTrigon in Teen Titans as a whale in the ear.
But yeah, I'm not overly fond of how obsessive the internet gets with memes. Funny the first time, but rapidly starts to become obnoxious. And for some things, just plain creepy.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyAnt-Man's minimum safe size is still too big to infiltrate much beyond the alimentary canal, and his points of entry are limited beyond that anyway; can't very well syringe him into Thanos's bloodstream.
From a practical sense, there's also the matter that realistic-looking internal shots of viscera is simply not pleasant to look at, and generally not something you want an excess of in your popcorn-selling summer blockbuster for all ages. There's a reason Iron Man flying through the Chitauri Leviathan is limited to a helmet shot, and Drax inside the Abelisk is just a close-up of him stabbing a bright yellow cellophane wall.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!

And it's kind of a silly question for those particular characters anyway.
