Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that if they battle Thanos, it will happen early on anyway. Or do you really thing that they decided to get the gauntlet back and then spend the next three hours looking for Thanos?
The footage is most likely from whatever Disney send out to cut together the trailer. Meaning it is from the start of the movie, not the end.
At least I hope so.
Regarding the animals on Asgard: I kind of assumed that whatever animals they had were imported from the nine realms anyway. So hopefully no species died out. Other than the "giant wolf" species that is….
Two weeks? Exactly eight days over here...

The footage is definitely from towards the end of the movie. I am absolutely certain. I won't say anything more than that.

This song needs more love. So, I stumbled over this twitter post, which does an excellent job to summon up the thematic arc in Captain Marvel, and why the "she doesn't have an arc" complains are so tone deaf:

There is also a tweet by an abuse survivor taking apart her feelings regarding the movie.
Is it weird that one of the things I took from that thread besides the actual point of it was the insult "spunktrumpet"?
Because that's a surprisingly amusing and effective insult.
The only downside is that it combines the words "spunk" and "trump", leading to all kinds of uncomfortable mental images.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAs a survivor of an abusive household myself (even if it wasn't quite as bad as Becca had it), I adored that 2nd thread.
Yep. No one should have to go through that shit.

Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)Yeah, I have to agree with the consensus to keep that massive spoiler OUT of this thread. COMPLETELY. If it really is the final battle, DON'T even bring it up until at least THREE WEEKS AFTER Endgame comes out in theaters.
Put that shit in the Endgame spoiler thread and don't even think of bringing it here. We managed not to spoil Infinity War, we can do Endgame, too.
Oh god I forgot Sam. Sam is also part of the marriage. So you’ve got the Steve group (Steve, Sam, Bucky) and the Tony group (Tony, Pepper, Rhodey), but then all six of them are married.
Nat refuses to marry Tony Stark because hell no but it’s mean to marry the other five and not him, so she’s unofficially sorta part of the group. Pepper and Sam are her faves.
The leaked footage is their wedding. It was leaked by shippers too hyped up to care about being murdered by Disney
