Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I think that was in Bendis’ Guardians
Quill’s dad set up an Earth quarantine just to fuck with Quill, as he do
In fairness to the space jerks, Earth has a habit of punching way above its technology level and influencing the course of space politics in space
The many upsets in Shi’ar administration the X-Men have prompted, the Avengers inserting themselves between enormous cosmic wars like the Kree Skrull War or the Kree Shi’ar War, the Fantastic Four fending off Galactus, stopping countless alien invasions and Thanos stuff
It’s like learning that Sealand stopped World War III, fended off a full invasion by the US, forced regime change in Russia, and punched out a hurricane all in like one decade
I’d like to see a smaller less empire having race try to improve their standing by attempting to forge an alliance with Earth and the many and hilarious repercussions of that

Forever liveblogging the AvengersVery true. Creating the Inhumans however many thousands of years ago and leaving Kree sentries and a devolution ray behind just in case they needed to wipe the board
The Kree are the worst assholes in space time

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI recall there was at least one Kree in Ao S that wanted to prevent the other Kree from finding out about the Inhumans still being around, since they'd get all murdery.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Agreed for once on that point.
I don't think the show tied in that much to what was happening in any of the other series, so that could easily work.
One Strip! One Strip! In the comics, it's long been a plot point that the sheer overwhelming volume of superhumans created in countless different ways is really f*cking weird. The Kree don't have a billion lab-accident super-Kree running around Hala. The Skrulls don't have Super-Skrulls that weren't created as part of the Super-Skrull Program modeled after superhumans.
Superpowers do happen on other planets on very rare occasions, but Earth is basically Freak Mutation Central for the universe.
IIRC I think some comics have attributed the issue of human genetic volatility to Kree experimentation with our ancestors. The same experiments that ultimately created the Inhumans left human genes highly prone to mutation. But I'm sure other comics have explained it other ways.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.According to Ao S, the Kree did their experiments on various planets and earth was the only one where they took. So, I guess, this is something very special to earth. Maybe humans are just super-adaptable.
They also seem to have a shorter life-span than most other alien populations...

There are a lot of hands in the cookie jar of Earth
Intentional tampering by the Celestials, inadvertent tampering when a Celestial died and vomited mutagenic bile into the water table, the Kree to name but a few
Asgardians were hanging around with Vikings, the Olympians in Greece
Earth is so interfered with

Hey, I happen to like what Ao S did with the Inhumans so far.

I’m fine with the way Agents of Shield has been using the Inhumans. That can continue
Just transplant Lockjaw to AOS for a couple cameos
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Okay, now I want to see that scene….
