Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Eeeeh, turning Wolverine into a Bishonen was a bad move.
I mean, I don't mind Bishonens, but Wolverine? Seriously.
It was so weird how The Wolverine had ninjas and samurai running around in modern Japan, and the only justification given is "the boss is very old-fashioned".
I demand the Shang-Chi movie have a scene where he battles an American crime syndicate and all the assassins dress like cowboys and use lassos and horses.

Well, the Yakuza are descended from ronin...
Granted, Japan pulls that shit off all the time, for whatever that's worth, but I'm guessing there N-Word Privileges in there.
About the 3-hour runtime of Avengers: Endgame, I may have one of the most bizarre suggestions to give. Respond with "Whatever it takes" if you are taking preventive measures to not go to the cinema toilets during the film (eg. Not consuming liquids, adult diapers, etc.) I'll excuse myself... ![]()
Ya know Nick Fury is a jerk but he could have been worse.
The Ultimate Nick Fury was a total bastard, even among his Ultimate denizens who were the scum of the Earth.
Just look up what he did to his ex-wife Monica Chang when they were still married. He banged all her female friends & relatives, even her mom for literally no reason. It’s why the marriage lasted less than 6-months.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Ultimate Fury is a current topic in the comics thread.
Yesterday convo started with “who’d be a good president” someone recommended Ben Grimm, we all agreed cause the Thing is awesome, then someone recommended Fury on the logic that he’s solved the world’s problems like Venezuela by throwing a Hulk at it, kept defending him even though we pointed out the flaws in such a choice, & we have now spent most of yesterday & today insulting Fury & especially Ultimate Fury.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Ultimate Nick Fury has many sins but one of the worst, like the tenth worst maybe, was thinking Cap’s joke about France was funny
He’s a bad man with bad taste
Forever liveblogging the Avengersdohohoho
And you sir, can join that ashamed line with Hail Muffins.
Ok. That pothole is misleading. It's actually Blueace who suggested Ben rather casually
, but I was the one who kinda pushed it, and the more I did, the more I ended up convincing myself that Ben Grimm, President of the United States of America could seriously be a thing.
That being said, I like MCU Fury. His biggest error was Project Insight and even he wasn't totally on board with it. And that's before Hydra came into the equation.
He wanted to create the Avengers to protect the Earth from the start because he felt that was better than making more weapons, and he helped save the Skrulls in Captain Marvel. MCU Fury is a cool dude, and doesn't deserve to be tarred with the same brush as Ultimate Fury
One Strip! One Strip!

Plus its apart of his classic history and among his more acclaimed stories I believe.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
