Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Okay, fuck it, that backlog is just too big.
Did we talked already about the animated Captain Peggy what if? Because more Peggy is just what I need to keep my interest in this franchise alive after Endgame, she was one of the best thing in the first movie.
Also, with the What If animation confirmed, here's what I want: Colleen Wing being the Iron Fist, with Sword of the Stranger-esque sword fighting!
I know, I just rather she started out as the Iron Fist, preferably with the ability to coat her katana with Dragon Chi.
What I'm trying to say is, I want a version of Iron Fist that annoying blond cunt version of Danny Rand gone, and the easiest way to do that is to just give the title to someone else, preferably on of the few good characters from that trainwreck of a show.
Besides, how much we actually saw of Colleen being the Iron Fist, anyway?

“preferably with the ability to coat her katana with Dragon Chi”
Iron F-sword. Iron Samurai
Wait, I think katanas are more typically made of steel

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThere was a character from a manga I like that used a wooden katana as a weapon and then wrapped it in a snake shaped band of psychic energy so that it could actually do damage to the nonsense she fought
The principle is sound

Real life kenjutsu fighters can (emphasis here) break steel katanas with wood ones, and the thing can easily break bones and ligaments.
That's why kenjutsu schools these days practice using shinais
.
Because there can be only one.
No really, the dragon can only fuel one Iron Fist at a time. More than one and the power is halved.

Danny's got a lot of bad faith.
He spent Season 2 realizing he wasn't in any way worthy of the power, and then whole heartedly supported giving it to Colleen instead. While some thought that if the series had continued, he'd have regained it, I think they were building towards him gaining the power in his own way (becoming truly worthy) and him and Colleen both being iron fist.
That being said, even if he never gained back the power (which was admittedly unlikely) and Colleen stayed the fist (I think that's also likely), his massive (and well deserved) hatedom from the first season would have likely never been satisfied until he was flayed and beaten into mulch.
His comic book counterpart is likely gonna take a lot of flack on that front for years, because people will assume he's just like the TV version. Basically the same deal as Aquaman.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah, but Iron Samurai still wouldn't quite work because (a) Samurais are Japanese, while Kun'Lun seem more inspired by Chinese culture, (b) Iron Fist is the official title, the chosen don't get to pick nicknames, and (c) a pure iron katana would break after a single slash, because iron is brittle, that's why they add carbon to it.

Plus, Iron Fist can finally get his revenge on Wolverine for stealing Sabretooth.
Also seconded on Weebverine's weeaboo shit being unnecessary

This place is careless.

Doesn't the Xandarian Ronan executes at the start of GOTG bleed blue, just like the Kree?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
