Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Small and medium cinemas will absolutely sell out. Huge ones, or ones in areas with quite a few cinemas, might manage.
Out of curiosity, I checked my cinema('s chain)'s website... and it apparently has a booking queue 'as a result of exceptional demand', which I've never seen before. Which is a bit annoying, as unless I plan to go by myself I can't actually book now even if I get through. I did do two for Infinity War (midnight by myself because nobody else wanted to, then went with friends at a more sociable hour) but that was at a far cheaper cinema. Kind of concerned I'm going to get spoiled if I leave it even a few days or whatever.
Looks like they find Grimace pretty quickly.
Doesn't look like it works out well.
One Strip! One Strip!"How'd this work out for you when you had more people than now? Badly?"

It's a theatre...which also happens to be the biggest (and one of the oldest, it has been around sind 1924) theatres in Germany. I think it might even be the biggest in Europe. (In terms of seats in front of one screen). They still manage to sell out once in a while, but usually for special events. I prefer it for Marvel movies because it is difficult to get a showing which is not in 3D for the Marvel movies, and at least that theatre uses proper shutter glasses. They are easier on the eye.
And since I plan to go alone first and later with friends, I only need to get one seat. That is usually not a problem. There is already and empty seat between two bookings for the 16:00 showing in my favourite area. Though I will aim for 12:00 anyway. There is no way that this one will be sold out, even though it is vacation time, so at least the children won't be in school.

I forgot why I unfollowed the thread, because I really should have skipped the hundred or so pages that came after the last thing I read. Man, there was so much to read, but I had to skip several chunks due to...explosive reactions. I’m gonna boil down my thoughts on everything until now:
I’m very much burnt out on any desire for watching Captain Marvel simply because I figured that as an origin story, there was an inevitable introduction to Endgame, which I cared more about. I had asked a friend to let me know what he felt about it and he told me that he liked it, but not enough for a re-watch.
However, I’ve seen enough drama through You Tube colored my already tentative perception, which the existing comments and arguments from both sides did not help. Today, reading through this thread reaffirms my decision that it simply isn’t worth watching the movie even when it becomes available for home viewing.
I’m fine for a less than stellar Marvel movie simply because Marvel movies are successful enough already.
I just want to see the rematch of the year. Also, there was another trailer from Marvel that dropped today.

The drama was extremely one-sided. If you really care about reactions: It usually gets a 7 to 8 out of 10. The audience gave it an A. But you have remember that both the reviewers and the audience doesn't really measure it as movie, but as marvel movie, which I think is colouring the perception a little bit.
Otherwise, I recommend the movie, especially if you happen to be female. This is really a movie which was made for us. But my male friends enjoyed it, too.
It also has this side effect that it makes you really, really excited for Endgame.
And if you love cats, you should watch it anyway.

Honestly, I was really apprehensive about the film due to the fact that I doubted it could top Black Panther, plus all the nasty misogynist bile and some critics being meh on the film.
I absolutely loved it. So I get where you’re coming from but I think you should consider giving it a shot. (It didn’t top Black Panther for me, but that’s not entirely fair. That’s like demanding all steaks top the best steak you’ve ever had).
I saw it with my cousin and aunt; we all loved it. I also saw it with two guy friends who enjoyed it and put it in their Marvel top 10; saw it with another guy who was a little leery because of the “this movie hates men!!!” blather; he also enjoyed the movie.

I mean, it isn't about to pass a billion because people don't like it. You don't get to those numbers without repeated viewings.
Though it will have nothing on Endgame. Looks like the movie kept crashing the ticket sales sites.
My favourite part is Carol's final fight. And Coulson.

Tom Holland will not be in Endgame. Boy can't keep his mouth shut, and in this cutthroat industry, leaks get patched. When all of the Snapped people are revived in the finale, they will instead CGI in Spider-Man played by a stuntman, who will not talk or remove his mask for the remainder of the film.

Is that a theatre, or a drive-in?
