Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I was gonna say he's an illegal Avenger, but he's not. Tony was legal, and in Homecoming he apparently had official power to name Peter an Avenger (though that got derailed by Peter being more mature than the adults in the room). So, yeah. Peter is the newest Avenger.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Random brain fart: Jordan Peele doing a Blade movie in the MCU.
Yay, nay, or "want to see it, but it won't happen."?

As the director? Hell yes. Of the Blade films, only the second one really leaned into the horror aspect (since it was directed by Guillermo del Toro); Jordan Peele can definitely make a great horror film, while also keeping a sense of humor to it.
As for who should play Blade: John Boyega
, totally.
I'd be so there for a Blade movie directed by Jordan Peele and starring John Boyega.
Vampires and Peele's brand of social critique are a match made in a dark, gruesome alley right before a leather-coated man shows up with a sword.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Ooh, he could even do an adaptation of The Tomb of Dracula. I would love that.

You know what? I'm for it.
Peele is good for horror, and I'm sure he could bring something fresh to Blade.
One Strip! One Strip!John Boyega has said
he's talked with Marvel about an undisclosed role far down the line, but would rather that Wesley Snipes reprise the role of Blade.

Snipes can play Frank Drake
, Blade's benefactor.
I could also see him playing Brother Voodoo
.

I know little about Brother Voodoo, but going by the name alone, seems like a character that needs a few touches for him to work in the modern day.
Other than that, hell yes to Jordan Peele, "ehhh" to John Boyega. I don't doubt the man's acting chops, but he just looks too cute and not intimidating enough for someone like Blade.
Or maybe I just have nostalgia googles stuck in me eyes for Snipes' Blade, heavens knows I f*cking love that movie.
They would probably want to refrain from actually using the name. Like Man-Ape.
But given their track record, I have confidence that they could probably do really well with Jericho Drumm as a character. Like M'baku.
Mind you, there are holes in Marvel's history with representation, but Jericho isn't Asian so he'll be fine.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Brother Voodoo would actually be a really cool character to put in the MCU, going by his biography.
Basically, Jericho Drumm is a Haitian native who returned after 12 years of being an accredited psychologist in the USA to find out that his twin brother, the local Houngan (a male voodoo priest) is dying. The person responsible is a sorcerer possessed by a snake god who has snake powers.
Jericho trains under an elder Houngan to become a Houngan himself, and he manages to defeat the sorcerer with the help of his twin brother's spirit. He then becomes Haiti's official Houngan Supreme and gets a sweet mansion.
Brother Voodoo's powers are derived from the Loa, Voodoo gods. He can become immune to fire and control flames. He can create a smokescreen that he can see through. He can control animals and plants with hypnotism. He has super strength and can summon the soul of his brother to increase his strength further or possess someone for him. If the Loa deem it necessary, he can also teleport himself and others with their help.
Pleasantly surprised about the positive reception towards the thought of Peele helming a Blade movie. If anything, I was concerned it wouldn't happen for the same reason Guillermo del Toro hasn't done an MCU movie: it'd be too restrictive for his style.
But then again, it's not like anyone's said out loud it wouldn't happen, so... (plus, African-American filmmaker doing a movie on vampires, how often does that happen?)
Anyway, I forget if everyone here was itching for Black Panther and Storm to be an item in the MCU, but the current Storm doesn't think it NEEDS to happen.

Oh, no idea if it would happen, I just know the prospect gets me incredibly excited. Like, I'm excited for Blade the same way I'm excited for most Marvel characters, in that general "Yeah, that'd be cool if they got a movie, I'm sure Marvel would make it good", but a hypothetical JORDAN PEELE'S Blade? That's a movie I'd be excited for entirely divorced from the larger MCU machine.
> I still have no idea how one would insert the notions of vampires into the larger MCU....
I was going to say "Morbius, the Living Vampire" but thats a Sony film,I could see vampires appearing in a Doctor strange movie since magic is his thing and vampires are typically magical undead things
or there's Sinister..
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverMan, remember when Cyclops told Dracula to follow his heart?
No really, that happened.

Nothing more sexier than a new Iron Man suit alright.
