Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Another video about the music in the MCU, this time about the Thor Franchise. Really interesting explanation how the second differs from the first soundtrack.
Personally I lean more towards to the second, but I LOVE the Asgard theme from the first. Also, the use of the funeral score in Ragnarök is still my favourite joke in the movie.
New international Endgame poster
. Valkyrie, Wong and the fallen heroes actually made it onto this one.
1. I am impressed that they managed to fit 29 characters on this poster without it looking overcrowded at all.
2. I am very happy that they have moved Carol more to the front. Partly because the newest Anti-SJW BS is that Marvel should cut scenes with her out of the movie to lower the run-time. Now she is standing directly beside our six core avengers, like she should!

I’m very glad they didn’t introduce her as an after thought at the end of Age of Ultron
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat's a really cool poster. some notes:
- I hope it's not deemphasizing some characters, as some posters and markets sometimes do
- The original 6 Avengers are in the center of it, of course
- Some asymmetry in it, which would be remedied by putting Carol next to Thor, above Valkyrie, and slightly larger than Ant-Man
- Was Vision also dusted after already being dead?
- Gamora is also there, despite having died before the dusting. The other two major characters who died before it (Heimdall and Loki) are not included.
- Ant Man's supporting cast is not pictured. Like Shuri, their fates weren't confirmed in Infinity War proper, but they also weren't in that movie, while she was.
- I feel like the middleground of the image, in front of Thanos but behind the Avengers, is some combination of Cap's shield and Tony's arc reactor, and I wonder if this suggest they'll both die. Those two objects are also glowing heavily in the foreground, though so are War Machine's repulsor and some of Thor's lightning.
- I've still got a bad feeling that despite Okoye's presence, Wakanda's characters are going to be an afterthought in the movie, like in Infinity War

I think Vision and Gamora are there because they'll be resurrected somehow (time rewind and Soul Stone shenanigans, perhaps) and play a role in the film, whereas Heimdall and Loki are gone for good and Hank and Janet simply aren't in the film.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!<Hank pops in>
Hank: Fuck Tony Stark!!!!
<Hank leaves>
Tony: Sounds about right. Least he didn't go for the nut shot.

One Strip! One Strip! He doesn't need to really. He's Tony Stark. The list of people who hate him starts with his own former teammates except for Rhodey and Thor and goes through most of the city.
Hank's problem isn't mainly with Tony, but with Howard. Though Hank should have problems with Tony at that point, seeing as by then Tony's ego was responsible for explosive attacks on both coasts of the US, and he somehow used that to become more famous and profit from the destruction (events of Iron Man 2, 3, and the origin of Damage Control in Homecoming).
And while Hank is likely an Unreliable Narrator who is no treat to work with himself, that doesn't change that the films are rather polar on Howard, who already made unauthorized use of Hank's work, and once had a guy deported and disgraced and took all credit for his work, after that guy dared to... do the exact same thing that got Howard his position and billions (backstory of Iron Man 2).
Wasn't Vanko Sr. trying to sell the Arc Reactor tech to their enemies?
That's basically illegal right?
I also still want to think that Howard may have purposely did what he did to get Hank to leave on his own since we've suspected he was aware of the Hydra infiltration...though I don't think that theory holds much water anymore.
One Strip! One Strip!

That’s so accurate it hurts.
