Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He is usually pretty high on the list of characters people want to see. No wonder, outside of the Fox properties he is basically the last of the "big" characters left.
I feel like with his similarities to Aquaman he should have been added to cinematic universe before DC made their movie,if he gets added people are immeidately going to be critical because it just so happens DC also has a superhero who lives underwater and talks to fish
Ah, yes, I heard about the theory that Disney lied about Captain Marvel's box office. Riiiiiight. What interest would they have to do that exactly? Even if the movie was actually failing, it wouldn't magically make people go see the movie. And how would Disney do that without immediately being found out? Then again, these are the same people who think White males are the majority of the fans and target audience (yeah I already found two guys who insisted it was the case to me).
And I would personally not mind seeing Namor join the MCU.

Marvel’s “Shang-Chi” movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Speaking of Captain Marvel's box office, in the real world note it has just officially crossed half a billion worldwide.

I once heard something say something about Larson's "insidious agenda".
What the fuck, do they not hear how much they sound like cartoon characters?
And that was on animenewsnetwork on article about how Sailor Moon was a childhood inspiration to Larson. The fucking Larson hate is everywhere.
Thank God the mods removed the dumbshit & I did my part by reporting said dumbshit.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You can't really take the comment trolls seriously. Sure, they may believe what they are saying, but they are the very definition of a Vocal Minority given an inflated media presence by their persistence and volume. Reporting them for mod removal is the correct thing to do.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"And considering that Cretton has already directed Brie Larson in three films, I hope that they include a Captain Marvel cameo in Shang-Chi, too. Maybe a post-credits scene or something.
So now the films we have that are (kind of) confirmed for Phase 4:
- Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Black Widow (directed by Cate Shortland)
- The Eternals (directed by Chloe Zhao)
- Shang-Chi (directed by Destin Daniel Cretton)
Looking at the slate of new films, it's nice that Marvel really is going for diverse directors.

Well, we don't know what sequels are getting made. I'm betting we're going to get Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, and Captain Marvel 2 out within the next four years. Possibly another Ant-Man movie, too, since Ant-Man and the Wasp did pretty good.
There hasn't been an Iron Man movie since Iron Man 3, so I suspect that each character will get three films (as main character — they can still show up in other films) and that's it. Although I really do wish we could get a film of Thor establishing Asgard on Earth, like Thor: Ragnarok teased. That was an awesome storyline in the comics.

Pass on that duty to Valkyrie.
I mean, seeing the badass Lady Drunk having to play ruler and diplomat should result in quite a few silly moments.
Or just use Teen Idol!Loki from the Agent of Asgard comic, that one would be nice, too.
