Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it: I like all the Marvel heroes. There is not a single one of them that I could legitimately say that I "don't care about". That doesn't mean that I want to see them all on screen together in every single film: there would be no room for them to grow or have arcs if that happened.
What I do mean, however, is that I will not dismiss any of the MCU films as "not worth seeing", since each brings something fun and interesting to the table.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Oh.
-fingers crossed- They cannot leave Luke Cage with the ending it had.
Wait, why two years? Is that when some license runs out?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!The deal with Netflix is that Marvel can't use those characters at all for two years after the cancellation of the Netflix series. This is the first I'm hearing about the shows themselves migrating (since iirc the shows still belong to Netflix), as apposed to Marvel simply making new shows with the characters in a couple years, though.
That said, I'd presonally prefer it if instead of putting them back into TV shows that the film series will inevitably ignore, we get a New Avengers movie adaptation (so Luke, Iron Fist, Jessica, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Wolverine...).
Getting a New Avengers film with the same actors would be amazing, but considering that Marvel Studios doesn't really have the inclination to connect to Marvel TV, I'm not sure they would do it. Plus, they might not like advertising for the seasons on Netflix or they might want to keep those properties R-rated, which the movies aren't.
But it would still be awesome if they do.

Was it the one we've already seen, with Tony adrift in space? I keep expecting them to drop a new one, especially now that Captain Marvel has set the stage.
Yes. That trailer showed. My apologies for how I responded to your original comment. I just noticed that you didn't get a trailer while I saw the usual one when I saw Captain Marvel three nights ago.
Checked the Geek + Gamers video about the "problem with Captain Marvel's success". The guy had the guts to say he hoped the movie would have a huge drop on the second week, and then to say the people who supported the movie and gave it good reviews were "not real fans", but SJW who just attached to supporting whatever suitted their political views to then move to the next.
Such bad faith is disgusting.
First class bullshitters have a video about how Captain Marvel ruined the track record of the MCU. I did NOT click on it because I know it is BS anyway.

Thankfully "real fans" know that this isn't true because they are at places like here properly geeking out at each other. I can't wait to join you.

@Swanpride: I will try to hold to that lesson as well. And I don't know yet when I will be able to see the movie; I am trying to see it with my girlfriend (she is a Khamala Khan fan), and we're still discussing both the cinema and the day.
@Known Unknown: Yeah, I am starting to realize that. At first I thought these people might just be Star Wars fans who had legitimate points, but the more I saw about their videos the more I realized how wrong I was.
Shit's always been around in some form or another I think but I feel like recently there's been a lot more dodgy YT channels by full-on or borderline GG'ers and/or 4chan edgelords. They get into my recommended feed sometimes and it's gross.
When you put things in context, it just becomes more and more pathetic. After god knows how many films with male protagonists, one film about a woman is enough to make them unravel.
There's this channel called Dishonoured Wolf that (aside from his tone of voice being unbearable to listen to) I just know would make some cringy anti-Captain Marvel video not dissimilar to Geeks + Gamers or whoever tf they are. I've stopped paying any attention to these sorts of channels and haven't looked back.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)Those people actually know each other. They sometimes do videos together which are about taking apart the work of other youtubers. It's a new kind of venue which grew out of the pushback against Cinemasins I am split about...on the one hand, it makes really sense to take apart badly argued videos and explain why they are badly argued. On the other hand, there have been more and more dishonest players who don't take apart bad arguments anymore but simply attack people they happen to disagree with. Not surprisingly, the group did a whole string of videos which are about taking apart videos of people who enjoyed The Last Jedi.
What we see there is actually a network of youtuber which feed each other their talking points and draw young youtubers which don't know better into their circles.

And what about Antman,no one seems to care about him
