Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Ok, who let Light Yagami in here? There's a clear difference in power levels from Carol fighting on the train and Super Saiyan Carol fighting in space.
Do you think she'll get a supercharge from absorbing the energy of Thor's lightning?
If they are indeed retaining the energy absorption aspect of her powers, I think she'll end up absorbing power from the Infinity Stones.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the Tesseract makes a surprise appearance in Captain Marvel and that's how she powers up enough to take on the alien fleet. It was, after all, in SHIELD custody during this time period. That would certainly help explain why she is having fistfights with Skrulls in part of the movie and having fistfights with spaceships in another.

This fantastic new transformation then gets immediately worfed by Thanos' new form (which has luxurious golden locks, just like Carol).

x3 But Karol is reminded of what is at stake by an impassioned speech of Fury, thus getting a power boost and Heroic Second Wind, matching Thanos Blanco blow-for-blow!

So around 94/95 then?
Man, I was just starting junior high around then. Good times....that I didn't appreciate back when I lived them.
Neither did I.
BTW, Dragon Ball Z started airing in 1996, so she's off by a year.
The manga started publication in 1989, but it would take even longer to get in the States.
Edit: Correction: the manga was first released in 1984, the anime started airing in Japan in 1989 and Z came West in 1996.
