Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm not highlighting spoilers, but avoiding them in terms of context is going to become very difficult. Is it really so difficult to leave off posting anything spoilery until after opening weekend? Heck, I'm even paranoid about reviews!
Everything I'm seeing and hearing about Captain Marvel makes me more and more certain that I'm going to absolutely love it, but I'm afraid someone is going to ruin it for me.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I went ahead and created a spoiler thread.

Yes, but back then there was a separate discussion for Infinity war. I think nobody expected that there would be so much buzz around Captain Marvel that early. Usually you can wait until the week of the release to open the extra discussion with the "lesser" Marvel movies.

Website We Got This Covered has a source saying it's "likely" that Hulu or FX will pick up all of the cancelled Marvel Netflix shows.
Marvel is apparently in talks with both and is willing to wait the 24 months to use the characters again, which is nice.
I'm surprised that FX is in the mix, because they are cable, not streaming, but it also makes sense: once the merger goes through, Disney will own FX (just like they will own 60% of Hulu) and FX has already shown that they can do Marvel shows (Legion). It would be interesting to see a show go from Netflix to cable, though, which would necessitate commercials. I still think Hulu is probably more likely, though.
Oh, I agree. I also think that the endings of the Daredevil Season 3 and Iron Fist Season 2 actually provide the perfect way to "revamp" those shows. For Daredevil, it's Matt, Foggy, and Karen working together again, this time with all of them knowing about Daredevil and with Iron Fist, it's Colleen Wing as the new Iron Fist, with Danny Rand and Ward on a quest to find Orson Randall / what I hope is the "Tournament of Heaven" arc.
What I would like to see once the show are back with Disney
1. I want to see Danny and Ward on their crazy Asian adventure, maybe complete with a tournament. I don't want Danny back in New York just now, I want to see him roaming the world first.
2. I want a daughter of the dragon show.
3. I want Luke and Jessica interacting more, including Luke getting Jessica pregnant. and not just because this happens in the comics, but because I feel that they have written themselves into a corner with Jessica and having her deal with motherhood would be a good way to develop her character further. Plus, it is a theme which is so rarely explored, usually motherhood is portrayed as this great thing. I would love to see it portrayed as an angsty and live-changing experience.
4. I want Matt actually working like a lawyer. More cases please. Daredevil should be at least half of a courtroom drama.
I also wouldn't mind the characters leaving New York more often.

There have been successful lawyers shows pretty much since the start of Television. There even have been shows about lawyers and/or judges dishing out their own brand of justice...the most obvious one being Dark Justice, which, after all, run for three seasons.
It actually would make WAY more sense that Matt encounters questionable dealings and criminals which can't be reigned in by the justice system through his work than him sitting on the roof, conveniently hearing someone call for help and then managing to turn up before it is too late.

I'm starting to feel as if I need to drop this thread for my own sanity for the next two weeks.
