Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I cannot wait until Endgame comes out. For a lot of reasons but also because, based on the Super Bowl trailer, it looks like the first part of the film will be going into the consequences, side-effects, and results of the Snap. If anything is going to refute Thanos' plan to erase half of all life, it would be that: directly showing what happens when you erase half of all life.
I can't wait for Endgame to come out for it to finally end this stupid argument once and for all. And y'all better not resurrect the argument under the pretense that "Endgame shows the consequences, but Infinity War didn't, and Infinity War can't rely on other movies to establish its story, despite the fact that Infinity War completely relies on previous movies to establish its story" because if you do, I will suplex you in Real Life.

Rumor: Because Avengers: Endgame is clocking in at 3 hours at the moment, there MIGHT be an intermission.
As in the thing they use for double features and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Hey, at this point, I'm up for anything so long as Thanos gets his ass handed to him.

I've watched a few movies with intermissions (namely Lawrence of the Arabia), but I never enjoyed them. Breaks the flow of the whole thing. I'd rather just get through in one sitting.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."My dad would be the type of person to appreciate an intermission, especially for a film of such length. Then again, that's mostly because he has a bad knee and recently had surgery to fix that, so...
Assuming the deal with Fox is finalized by then, I wonder if they'd have Deadpool show up to explain the concept of an intermission to the audience and perform until the start of the second act. It's probably very unlikely that would happen, but it'd be a fun idea to play around with. On the other hand, it could lead to some massive Mood Whiplash depending on where they decided to cut it off.
That's a good idea too.

We're less than three months away from the release so I'm actually surprised they're still working on the cut. I'd honestly love to experience a classic intermission, especially if the 3+ hour run time insures a really good story.
"In 900 years of time and space I've never met anyone who wasn't important."I'm with Gaon, I'd hate such a break from the flow of the story, partly because going to a theater is pretty much the only way I can manage to watch a movie in a single sitting.
I can definitely see how it could be annoying for people, but I think it might be necessary if the run time ends up being over three hours. If you take into account waiting in line, along with the previews and the movie itself, you're easily looking at four hours (or more depending on your theater situation) that you'd be putting aside for the event. People are going to have to have a drink, and lets be honest, holding your bladder can be hard and deeply uncomfortable for some people (me)
And given the nature of the movie, I think a scheduled intermission is a good way to insure people are comfortable and don't miss anything.

I wonder if she can survive several shots to the head.
