Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He also turn evil at some point, so they're just skipping the part where he is merely morally ambiguous.
Personally, I prefer his gender swapped Knight Templar version from Infinity Crusade.

/ well this rules out taika-waititi-
directing Guardians 3,he doesn't want to,understandable
I will said that a this point, the whole "Hela will be reveal as god of death" feel more a desire ot shoehorn comics stuff were it dosent as adaptation.
Is kinda like tony bulding ultron, is not comic accurate but that is for the best.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Y'know, if Nicole Perlman did direct the third Guardians film, that be interesting to see. She wrote the first film with James Gunn, while he has the solo writing credit for the second film. You could compare the two sequels and get a good sense of who contributed what to the first film and how they complimented each others strengths and weaknesses.
Of course, writing is a very different beast to directing, so handing her a big blockbuster with a lot of baggage behind it could be a potentially terrible idea. They should definitely consider bringing her back as a screenwriter if they ever plan to make any changes to Gunn's script.

Yeah, which is why I said that they would first need to test her out...but I guess there isn't enough time for her to collect the necessary experience.
But I hope she stays involved. I have the feeling that it is worth to have her involved as much as possible. She seems to have a knack for figuring out that the most important/interesting elements of a given property are.
The untitled Marvel ABC pilot
, claimed to be focused on women superheroes, has been cancelled.
That's a shame. I wonder what I would have been called.
That's two shows that ABC passed on (Marvel's Most Wanted and this one) and one show that has been in limbo for years (the one made by John Ridley). I know ABC might be gun-shy after the flop that was Inhumans, but it seems right now that they are just passing on every MCU project except Agents of SHIELD (which they know already has an onboard fanbase).

Well, they could always let her direct a few TV episodes to see if she has directing chops.
But speaking about female directors, what do y'all feel about Jennifer Yuh directing something? She was the mind behind Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3, which gives her a permanent soft spot in my frozen heart, and while (what I think it's) her first live action flick, The Darkest Minds, was relentlessly punded by critics, it had a pretty good audience reception
, which a reasonably good sign.
Since ABC has been under new leadership they have tried to get rid of all the superhero stuff...word is that the only reason Ao S is still on is because someone higher up at Disney keeps insisting that it should be renewed.
You realise you just described Killmongers motivation, right? Thanos's motivation is "the universe is slowly dying, and only I can save it."

So, if anything, it would seem like Karey Burke would be more receptive to MCU shows than Channing Dungey.

no it's literally "There too many people in the universe I have to kill half of it so we dont run out of resources!"
Anyway, provably wise revisit Thanos's motives another time when things are less heated, for now I'm stuck wondering how different directors would approach a marvel Movie
How about someone like Spielberg?Guy has enormous experience directing, would be very interesting to see his take on a Marvel movie

have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI stand corrected...I didn't know that they changed leadership again. That explains why Marvel tried again with another show.
But then, if Feige will now overseeing the MCU shows, the ones on the fringe will have a hard time...with the notable exception of Ao S, naturally.
I don't think Feige is overseeing any of the shows outside Disney+, I think that's still Jeph Loeb.

In the comics he is basically Thanos nemesis but that's impossible right now.
