Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'll wonder if they'll adapt another X-team before doing the X-Men proper. Fox was going to work on an X-Force movie before getting bought out, so I wouldn't put it past them to have that be a proper introduction to mutants in the MCU.
Although, I just had the idea they could do an Exiles film and have the premise be that they're trying prevent Mutants from dying out in the MCU timeline. Or maybe just introduce the idea of an alternate reality where mutants are around and the possibility of the two worlds interacting in some way.
All the more reason to lead with Nightcrawler and Excalibur.
Well them or Alpha Flight.

On how to fit X-Men into MCU, personally, the idea of humans getting powers due to mutations can be a side-effect of Infinity Stone usage, separate and combined. Of course, it counts on Endgame having a foreshadowing to the idea of mutants but I doubt it was written to help introduce X-Men into MCU in mind.
It's a lot easier to introduce one/ a few character(s) than a massive worldbuilding element. In theory they might be able to get away with 'Latveria was always there, we just didn't mention it' and just have the FF get their powers much later than they do in the comics. The Surfer could also probably appear without anything else, and Galactus is one option if they want to keep the stakes stupid-high (though I guess an entire planet is less than half of all life in the universe).
By contrast, mutants would take a lot more, especially if they want the older characters to have similar backstories, the Xavier academy operating, and the whole public-mutant-discrimination dynamic.
The advantage of Galactus is that he is a threat they can slowly built up. What Thanos did was a big shock, but he wasn't really that good as a looming threat. But Galactus...they can do one movie about the origin of the Silver Surfer, one movie about the Got G trying to stop him but only managing to rescue the population of a planet and not the planet itself and then, when he comes to earth, everyone will already be on edge.
I agree. Most importantly: Don't make Big G a cloud again. Yes, I know his costume is kinda goofy, but it can be made to look intimidating. I'd even be fine with a slight redesign, like this
◊.
Swan: I disagre with thanos not working as looming threat, is just the dial back that after AOU which is kinda awkard a times.
and Galatus...is weird that is motivation aside of "im hungry" kinda like MCU thannos with preserve a order of life and death and that kind of stuff.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Galactus shouldn't have any deeper motive. He is what he is. A force of nature feeding to survive and with an actual purpose in the universe.
In fact, I like him the most when he is completely silent (even though he does have a few badass lines). He is supposed to be so far above the puny humans that he doesn't even recognize them.

Thus, Titan was destroyed because it had too many people and that brought Galactus down on it.
But you shouldn't. Because why would you want to make Thanos justified?
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

And make him have this flair for theatrics that is equal parts funny and awesome.
I mean the guy has Errol Flynn as an idol.
