Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

No human being on this planet. Is that a Millenial test or a Skrull test?

"All you Fascists bound to lose."I do, I do, I do~ooo!
God, that takes me back. Y'know, it's only as I look back that I realize that Kenan and Kel was probably sponsored by either Coke or Pepsi, and that line burned into everyone's mind is effective goddamn product placement.
Either way, Saturday Night Live missed a golden nostalgia opportunity when they hired Kenan but not Kel to join their cast.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
x4 -I’ve discussed it with people before, (barring Keenan’s own fears that he was ruining SNL since he was the first and last All That alumni to be on there) but the thinking was that Keenan could be funny without Kel, but Kel couldn’t be nearly as funny without Keenan. That was my view on it.

It was used as a term of condescension against younger people when people first came up with it, but that was like ten years ago now, hence why those same people are now 40-50. I don't think it's a name anyone would have really chosen for themselves, but it's... convenient, and it is a new millennium one way or another, so...
Eventually Marvel is going to need to bite the bullet and stop making Magneto a holocaust survivor. They got away with it for the first X-Men series, but soon they're going to have the character pushing 90.
If Magneto is the character who is holding it back from making the mutants a recent thing, then changing which genocide he is a victim of seems like the easiest solution.
They could just give him a supernaturally-long lifespan, and explain that as either a side-effect of his power, the result of genetic experimentation (as I believe is the case in the comics), or just have all mutants live longer than humans, and Wolverine's extremely long life is that combined with his healing factor.

Thats gonna make it real awkward when the characters continue to age normally as the franchise wears on.
Like how Cap is supposed to not age, but we have all clearly seen the last 10 years affect Chris Evans.

I thought the Hydra test was just seeing if they objected to watching a Nazi get punched.

Neither did mine.
Then again I'm a '97 kid, so that doesn't mean shit
