Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

She's not really worst than Slade, she's just a bad person too.
And even when Slade tried to go good (after being traumatized & nearly killed by a botched attempt at becoming a speedster to travel time) he can't stop manipulating people & being an ass because Slade Wilson is irreparably fucked.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, is this all recent stuff, or from the past.
Not sure if I like the idea of the dude who propositioned a Teenager and killed Ryan Choi being the better person between him and his ex.
There's a reason he was given Baby Hands in Convergence, and we all said seems fair enough.
One Strip! One Strip! The comic also dealt with that after bringing in Terra to join Slade's hero group.
Slade does apologize & admits it was wrong what he did to her but he also tells her straight up he doesn't regret using her in other ways, & that being used & "owned" by him is all she's good for to him.
No matter how bad everyone else is, Slade motherfucking Wilson is a true Wheelon.

When a film wins for "Best Cast", who gets to keep the award? Tge director?
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!I wonder how they're going to keep up the loving tradition of Let's You and Him Fight in Avengers: Endgame. There's at least one needless but totally fanservice fight between heroes in every one of the Avengers movies, so it's going to happen sometime..
I'm guessing, if the plot involves time travel, they accidentally get into a fight with the Past Avengers. Either that or they fight over whether they should risk it in the first place.

Those fanservice fights always center around Iron Man. Tony's fought Thor, the Hulk, and Captain America in a more serious and dramatic battle than the typical mid-movie throwdown.
So if we were to follow suit, I'd say Endgame's fanservice battle will probably be Iron Man v. Captain Marvel. Thus giving her a chance to establish herself as being totally able to hang with the Avengers' heavy hitters.
Alternately, they could break from tradition and have Captain Marvel fight Thor.
Either way, if anyone's going to be fighting anyone, it'll probably be Carol.

Carol vs Tony is ok with me. Considering what happened the last time they faced off, I'm very ok with it.
Right, mostly joking. but we all know Carol would wreck Tony right?
One Strip! One Strip!??? We don't know if she will be written terrible. I don't see how her defeating Tony would automatically be terrible writing. Or how anyone would expect any terrible writing from Marcus and Mc Feely.

Fair enough.
Civil Wars tend to not bring out the best in Starks or Danvers'.
Rogers' don't come out too well in them either considering he died at the end of the first one and was a nazi during the second one.
One Strip! One Strip!Civil War II was about an Inhuman named Ulysses who had the power to predict probable futures. Captain Marvel's side wanted to use Ulysses to predict crimes ahead of time, Iron Man's side was against using him.
I dunno if it'd be a good idea, since "pre-crime punishment is bad" has already been covered in The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron. So in the MCU it might come off as redundant. But if they do adapt it, I think they should establish the 616 Ultimates, as that series did a lot to flesh out Carol's POV unlike the main Civil War line where she went well off the deep end. Specifically, include that Carol is haunted by witnessing what the Marvel timeline ''really'' looks like, and that America Chavez is acting as a mole within her team because she's seen bad timelines caused by use of Ulysses.

Civil War 2, like Civil War 1, introduces an interesting question and then proceeds to butcher it.
It starts with killing off Rhodey and hospitalizing She-Hulk so that both Tony and Carol can have feelings to feel that keep them from being in their right mind. Then it can't decide if it wants to be about pre-crime punishment or about Ulysses specifically, with things like Tony kidnapping Ulysses to make sure his powers are on the up and up which have nothing to do with the theme.
By the end of it, Carol's like the only straight-up kills Tony in a scene that directly compares her to Thanos killing Rhodey and I guess that means she's wrong? And also Ulysses disappears in a Puff of F*ck You and becomes one with fate or some shit so all of it was pointless anyway.
Oh, and any attempt at "Both sides have valid points" ambiguity is, like the original CW event did to Tony, completely and utterly ripped to pieces by tie-ins that near-universally declare that Carol's a puppy-kicking supervillain now.
All in all, it winds up being an exercise in pointlessness that drags Carol through the mud to accomplish nothing except killing off Tony and Rhodey so Ironheart can take the stage.

Wait, Priest actually made Adeline worst than Slade?
