Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Raising the dead would be possible with the complete Infinity Gauntlet. However, reversing the Snap wouldn't be as simple as taking the gauntlet, since its power was reduced after The Snap.
It's possible the body would be an Empty Shell without a soul.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think the logic is Reality Matter manipulates "matter" as a whole, but it'd be the Soul Stone's field of operation to resurrect people. Like, you could use the Reality Stone to reassemble a corpse back together but you wouldn't be able to pump life into it, because it'd be missing its actual soul. You'd need the Soul Stone to restablish that one.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
The soul stone since to implies there isa think as soul, maybe with that youc ould do something like astral travel like strange did.
How Nebula come to killing Thanos is intersting, it was litterely tell not show moment in a very pack movie, is almost bizarre.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"My earlier post about my ideas of how the Snap worked takes that property of the Soul Stone into account. Basically, the Soul Stone's role in The Snap was to act as a detector for every living being with a soul in the universe to mark them as a potential Snap victim.

Disgusted, but not surprised@Gaon Are you talking about the comics version now? Because there, the gap is even wider. And no, Kraven is not 'on a lower tier peak human than Cap' he is outright superhuman. He is magically enhanced, in fact. Also, that one arc (Back in Black. I think it was?) showed just how much a non-holding back Spidey destroys the Kingpin.
Edit: Is anybody else as unexcited over Punisher S2 as me?

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI guess there are a number of reasons. The season is being released just now, without much marketing or fanfare beforehand. The trailer didn't really show anything too interesting. Billy Russo's 'scarring' is a big disappointment. But I guess the biggest reason would be knowing that the Netflix Marvel era is at an end and that this show will be immediately cancelled too after the second season is released. And I also fear that there'll be many unresolved plot points that will never be concluded, as the production started way before all that cancelling started.

Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianTo be honest: The Netflix shows have been on life support since The Defenders...and that is largely related to what I call circular storytelling. Still, I will be there to watch the rest of it.
But the Netflix shows, well, they are an article in their own.
Regarding Gamora: What is harsher in Hindsight for me is the line "I spend my life surrounded by my enemies, I will be honoured to die surrounded by my friends." Yeah, didn't really work out in the end, did it?

I wonder if Quill would have had a chance to shoot Gamora if he hadn't hesitated (he seems to struggle with the trigger before pulling it), or when Thanos egged him on by pushing Gamora's heads towards the barrel.
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Thanos knew the Guardians were there, or would be there, because he prepared a trap for them using the Reality Stone. I find it unlikely that he'd be sufficiently unprepared to let something like that happen. Honestly, the most unexplained part of the plot of Infinity War is how Thanos figured out that Gamora would find him on Knowhere at that exact time. He didn't have the Soul Stone at that point, so he couldn't gain supernatural knowledge.
I can only assume that he counted on her being unable to resist trying to find him, but that's quite a stretch given that he couldn't possibly have known that the Guardians would receive the Asgardians' distress call. It just feels like he got incredibly lucky there.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Also, that one arc (Back in Black. I think it was?) showed just how much a non-holding back Spidey destroys the Kingpin.
I prefer the Silver Age, when Kingpin was unambiguously stronger than Spider-Man. Spidey still held an advantage in 1-v-1s due to his speed, agility, webbing, and Spidey-Sense, but Kingpin had the strength advantage and his cane which is also a tranquilizer dart gun and a knockout gas gun and a shotgun, somehow.
In general, I like my Spidey to have super strength, but sufficiently skilled normal people should still be able to give him a hard time. It just doesn't feel like Spider-Man if he fights a group of 10+ goons and he comes away without a scratch, he doesn't have super-durability. Peter Parker takes a hit just as well as everyone else does, maybe a tiny bit better because he can brace himself better, but a normal guy punching Spider-Man in the face should still hurt him.

So in the UK an R rating is the equivalent to a 15 rating which is usually because of "“strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.”
I don't really expect nudity,I expect dialogue will be laced with edgy swearing and lots of people being killed by Black Widow in violently and occasionally gruesome ways, sexual violence would probably push the age rating up so they'll probably avoid that as they're aiming for an r rating not Adults Only

If Gamora splattered brains were put back together, would she be revived or stay dead? Like, would her soul just go back to the body or would the perfectly functional body get a new soul identical to Gamora?
