Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Because it was a Christmas Special.
Also, Thanos has a fixation with Earth for some reason. He had a base there many years ago (it was the reason why he had killed Drax's family back when Drax was simply Arthur Douglass — he thought they saw him land and he didn't want any witnesses, so he sent an energy blast out to kill them).
That's something Bendis came up with, Thanos never really cared about Earth, he has bigger fish to fry.
x5 I do, as a matter of fact: Bucky was never really all that beloved or remembered from TFA, it was Steve and Peggy's relationship that was the focus.
While TWS certainly benefited from having the whole backstory already established, with some editing that brief flashback is plenty for me to see why Bucky means so much to Cap.

As a non-comic book reader, I really connected with Bucky in the first Avenger. I can even tell you exactly when I fell in love with him so to speak: The bar scene. Everything about it is perfect, him saying that he wouldn't follow Captain America but would follow Steve Rogers, and then Peggy turning up and basically ignoring him, thus switching the entire dynamic between him and Steve around. A lesser man would have had trouble to deal with the notion that he is no longer the "strong protector" in the duo, but Bucky is just shrugging it off. I would marry him in a second for this attitude alone!
Let's put this one directly on the list of top 10 moments of Bucky...the other nine are: Bucky and Rocket, every Bucky and Sam scene (from him grabbing away his steering wheel to them being all proud over Steve's flirting), Bucky and Steve fleeing the Hydra facility, Bucky standing in front of the display about his own live (my heart goes out to him every time...the look in his eyes!!!..excellent acting!), his first appearance as Winter Soldier, The scene when Pierce mind-wipes him (there is something about the way he accepts the bit), him rescuing Steve at the end of Winter soldier, Him protecting Steve during his first appearance and the scene when he falls.
Also shout out to "This you protect" Bucky.

I will said Bucky is a chararter I have rather fond of in how complex he is, what I liked the most is the twist he kill stark parent and....bucky dosent deny it, he dosent go into this "it wasnt me" ot make him not guilty, it was really is fault and he have to live with it, im wonder if stark could ever forgive him or cap(in my opinion he shoudnt).
In fact, I will said yous hould put the moment when he analysise is fighting style and give payback as oen of the best iron man moment, is almost a reference of sherlock homes(almost).
Anyway, a show with valyre will be good...as long they dont reference her past, everything there is a mindfield after ragnarok.
Now a bucky and falcon show? yeah, please.
And about Wakanda, I will guess is because there is mix feeling for simple reason: is a wish fulliment for black people but it goes with a rather utopian notion of a isolionaism country and both are kinda odds with each other. Especially since the later are rather behind the time socialy and are usually bigoted and racist.
It dosent help that the movie after black panther dealing with this is infinty war, in which Tchalla have to help some foreginers by reciving....a outside invasion to their land(literaly at outside invasion).
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Comics Wakanda is a bit more nuanced. One of the more recent runs in BP even addresses the question of whether a monarchy is compatible with a modern nation. It ends with T'Challa deciding to step down (though he's still a religious leader as the Panther God's champion) and Wakanda becoming a democracy.
Disgusted, but not surprised![]()
Yup, she work with the grandmaster in is system of opresion and slavery...make her at black woman slaver....you can see the issue with that.
And even worst she was part of a female force that defend Odin...the imperalistic colonizer and warmonger and we are suposed to feel bad because they get gun down by hela who jusr did the same shit odin did until he change is mind for some unexplain reason.
When I said mindfield is thar ragnarok is pretty much Karma houdini: the movie, Odin got sympathy, so Valkyre even she work for the grandmaster and odin and Loki.
Like I said, a damn mindfield.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"So she's a black woman formerly involved in some unsavory acts.
So? Like I don't see how that's minefield, people from all walks of life have done terrible stuff since the dawn of time.
Its what happens when you have free will.
Shit it adds complexity to her, she's a flawed human being or Asgardian in this case.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
There is unsavatory act and there is "the kind of stuff would make you the villian in every other movie"
specially since the movie kinda fail to adress the part she is help the same system the movie is trying to crtizice.
nuance is good and I dont mind that, but that isnt the point.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"![]()

Good for her, back for the poor fucker she is slaving and delivering to granmaster who is a caligula.

I dont bet my money on it, Marvel is not keen of running that kind of "I did unsavatory thing in the past" kind of chararter.
I mean look black widow, almost ten years and we still dont know what awfull thing she did before.
