Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They have to get her 20 years into the future somehow. I kind of expect it's not going to be an ongoing thing for her, though. I'd much rather the bigger uses of it were limited to the Time Stone where the movies are concerned. And I say that as someone who actually really likes time travel — it's something that you kind of need to commit to, not because I particularly care about the rules, but because it's too easy for it to feel like a cheap, drama-free solution.
I'm guessing hers and the Avengers' time travel shenanigans will "cross streams" and that will be the post-credits scene.
This song needs more love.Let's wait and see...Ao S has been very, very careful with time travel or time in general (basically, in Ao S it is nearly impossible to change time because if you see in the future what you see has already happened...eh...Fitz can explain it better...though they managed to do so in the last season which could have been about loosing the rules a little bit in preparation for the Avengers), so hopefully the movies will be careful too.
If you make time travel too easy, it becomes a to go solution. It's a good thing that Doctor Strange most likely won't have the option in the Future anymore….
Huh, Ao S also used time travel in the season were they dealt with the Kree and Coulson will be appearing in this movie. I don't think that is a coincidence.
One thing for sure, Ao S plots are usually somehow inspired or connected to the MCU movies...season 5 was kind of an exception but it established the idea of a multiverse and time travel so, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a weird monolith in Captain Marvel.
Well, in that case, I'm a Social Justice Wizard!
We have a Paladin, a Cleric, Wizard and Bard. All we need is a Social Justice Barbarian and we'll have a full party!
That can be just as confusing.

She has the power to travel forward through time at a rate of one second per second.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
