Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

(laughing hysterically)
Also, I tried the phone number. It's invalid.
So, I encourage anyone that has a Chris Evans-ish voice to take that number, and use it to pretend to be Steve Rogers.
Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Damn you law and order! You ruin everything!

Energy saving. Fridges are pretty infamously inefficient, energy-wise, so having a computer to regulate their temperature better can genuinely save you a lot of money.

Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.@Hail Muffins You mean cars where you have to shift the gears yourself? Yes. Most Germans drive them, for two reasons:
1. They need less gasoline. 2. The German driver licence has a remark if you haven't tested on a car with clutch, because there is the reasonable assumption that people who haven't trained with it shouldn't just start to drive cars with clutch. In turn this lead to the assumption that people who don't use a clutch are "lesser" drivers.

You can turn off always-on connectivity (usually), or manually add and remove devices from your home network when you want to run updates. And you can still just get a basic fridge or thermostat, for that matter. But being able to control your home thermostat settings from your phone can be nice for people who get cold easily. Fridges with multiple compartments can also help with defrosting, etc. Cars with built-in Bluetooth sound systems? Yes please.
If you're worried about security loopholes based on those devices, well, we all probably need to beef up our network security knowhow, and if you have lots of really sensitive data on your home network, maybe you don't want a smart fridge on that same network. But for most people, you're probably not being targeted at home, and if you are, you've probably got other problems anyway.
As always, the Germany is the Only Sane Man of Europe :P.
The biggest problem with everything being connected isn't having your personal info stolen, it's the fact that it can use your usual habits (what kind of beer you prefer, how often you eat meat in a week, etc) to change the kind of apps and other shit so companies will be more likely to suck your money.
Which, while not illegal, is very scummy and quite manipulative. Pretty much the only reason I don't have a VPN is because I can't actually pay for one, otherwise my computer would make the pentagon looks like those baby cages.

I would much rather they get someone new for Wolverine in addition to holding off on using him, thanks.
