Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Incidentally, in the U.S., Shuri would actually be a small minority. Get it? Because's she's short and a minority?
...it wouldn't work in Wakanda, because she isn't a minority there.

Angela Bassett claimed Shuri and Ramonda survived the Snap
, but then the teaser trailer showed Shuri marked as "missing" on the Avengers' data screens
.

I mean the other two people listed as "missing" are ones who they actually have no idea if they were snapped or not.
This song needs more love.I know I kind of missed it, but a tiny part of the reason I like the idea of pairing Shuri with Peter is the idea that, by the transitive property, the whitest white boy to ever be white, becomes the Prince of Wakanda.
My various fanfics.Punching down never makes for good comedy.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.@Tuckerscreator: Scott Lang was marked missing, and then showed up on their doorstep. Then again, the Avengers were in Wakanda, so theoretically it shouldn't have taken very long for them to find out what happened to the only remaining members of the royal family. But thinking of that made me wonder what happened to M'baku?

Yeah that's what I'm curious about.
Right now its impossible to see Shuri ever doing that, but I'm curious if a sequence of events changes her to be more hard-edged somehow.
And let me state it doesn't have to be trauma or anything traumatic, just shit happening in life that changes a person. Especially the kind of shit that comes with running a kingdom, its not exactly pleasant.
If anyone's ever read Vinland Saga then they know that the crown is kind of a curse to those who wear it & those around them.
