Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Maaaaaaan, I am not ready to see Rocket's state in this film.
And he probs still doesn't know about the rest of the Guardians. What if he spends most of the movie clinging to the slim hope that the rest of his adopted family is alive, and then Nebula shows up alone and his spirit is utterly crushed?
That would be extremely cruel and heartbreaking, almost inhumane thing to do with your audience, Russos. Get it to the screen, damn it!

I know, I was joking.

God, would people even be able to have stuff like talk shows anymore? I mean, you will know someone who's died. Hell, there's a very good chance you saw it happen to somebody. Half of humanity, gone. How do you come back from that? That's, like, Class S Depression or something.
Oh God! Natural light! There would probably still be talk shows but they would more resemble group therapy sessions.
This song needs more love.Judging by how Holocaust survivors act, I'd say they'd never get used to it, but two or three generations down the line their descendants will just remember it as that really sad assignment for History class.
Though of course it's going to be undone one way or another before it gets that far.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff. There's plenty the MCU has yet to try, really, but that one in particular will likely only happen with alternate timelines.
Speaking of which, what do you guys think of Marvel doing "Graphic Novel"-style films? Y'know, stories with these characters that take place outside canon, like Punisher MAX and Earth X?
I think it would be pretty dope, Logan was essentially one, and it's pretty much the best superhero movie ever made.
For those who like Screen Rant's Pitch Meetings, here's one for the Avengers 4 trailer.
Okay, so can somebody tell me why this title 'Endgame' was a spoiler, and for what? I mean, I understand (kind of) why they wouldn't tell us until after Infinity War was out for a while: audiences may have been familiar with the plot of IW from the comic, but the title of Avengers 4 might've given away the fact that they actually went through with the Snap in IW. But after that? I'm pretty sure by June or July everybody knew how IW ended, whether they've seen the movie or not. And I thought it was widely know that Avengers 4 would be the last Avengers movie in the franchise, so how is knowing it's called Endgame a spoiler?
Did you know that you can just lie to people? It's true.

Natasha: "This is gonna work, Steve."
Steve: "I know it will. Because I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't."
Steve turns to the DM
"I'd like to roll to seduce Thanos, please."
camera pans to the DM, revealing Stan Lee
DM: "...Make a Charisma check."
Oh God! Natural light!Considering Vin Diesel is apart of the cast I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone’s played at least one round of Dn D.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It would have been a spoiler because if we had known about the title while watching Infinity War, and heard Steven saying the phrase "we are in the Endgame now", we might have guessed that whatever happens next, it won't be enough to defeat Thanos. But the entire finale hinges on the notion that the Avengers could. That we would think, if only for a split second, that Thor actually succeeded when he rams Stormbreaker into Thanos body.
After that hiding the title was simply marketing, though.
I have one issue with the Trailer: I wish they had used the Avengers theme.

Maybe later in the timeline?
