Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I find the current line of discussion tangential at best to the topic.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"To return the thread to a marvel related conversation(yeah, I know is weird IM the one rerail the thread...).
I will said Mantis status as slave dosent since off because everyone was kinda buisy trying to understand what the hell is going on: Peter is feeling happy is space that is there, Gamora that something is wrong, Groot is groot and drax....well, he is drax and dosent care.
That and Ego seen affable and omnipotent, so for many mantis is just that.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I felt it was more a case of them having more pressing things to be concerned about then freeing one (apparent) slave.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I always figured it was like Star Wars’ Outer Rim, where the universe is so grungy and amoral overall that people just accept things like slavery, and you only see outright horror about it from people from the most sheltered places. Most of our protags are people who would be right at home on Tatooine.
He still had the values Meredith passed on to him, too. I think there's a sense in which Yondu learned as much from this kid he'd adopted as the other way around. It's like all those sitcoms where the swingin' bachelor/galactic marauder suddenly finds himself a single dad to a family he NEVER expected. *tinkly heartwarming piano music* *live studio audience says awwwwww*

So having just finished Daredevil Season 3, I expect Bullseye to blow up in popularity very soon...and for Daredevil to also be cancelled.
Though it felt to me like it could end on the note the show left us on.
One Strip! One Strip! We'll see. Honestly, I wonder how the contracts look like, if Netflix owns those shows permanently, or if there is some sort of clause which ensures that they fall back into Marvel's hand eventually.
And I wonder about the Marvel TV shows in general. I mean, someone at Disney apparently really likes Agents of Shield (luckily), and Cloak and Dagger will get a second season, but it has been some time that they talked about TV projects in the works. I also wonder if Disney will move Marvel live-action TV under Feige's control eventually. Nothing against Loeb, but the current structure doesn't really make much sense.
Also...which one is the most obscure property you think would make a good movie? Mine is still Silverclaw.
A discussion I recently had with someone who called Thor: Ragnarok his least favorite Marvel movie, because its sense of humor and timing felt so different from that of Thor, has left me wondering if it really seems impossible to find someone who loves Thor, but would still agree with someone who prefers Ragnarok. (Personally, I don't consider any of the Thor movies my favorites from Marvel, but Ragnarok feels the most up my alley.)
I liked Thor.
Hell, I like The Dark World and everyone hates The Dark World.
I don't think I've disliked a single Thor movie, though I do admit that I like Ragnorok the most, even if I hated what they did to the Warrior's Three (Volstagg and Fandral didn't even get a cool last stand the way Hogun did).
One Strip! One Strip! He's a fish out of water in Ragnarok, too. A high fantasy-styled warrior prince stuck in a madcap, post-apocalyptic-styled sci-fi battleworld. Much of the plot on Sakaar is dedicated to how everything about being there is way out of his comfort zone, adding to his desire to get the hel out of there.
I mean, I like Ragnarok well enough. It's a decent popcorn flick. Not one of the better MCU films, but better than Thor 2, and maybe about as good as Thor 1. But it's difficult to deny that the entire middle of the movie has pretty much nothing to do with anything Thor both as a character and as a plot is actually about, including both the beginning and the ending of the actual film itself.

I'm reading rumours saying that Disney is devloping four marvel mini series for their streaming service, so that's two more in addition to Loki and Scarlet Witch, and one of them will have Sam Jack's Nick Fury playing a large, but not starring, role.
However I can't find a good source for these rumours so I'm treating them as a nice hypothetical for now.

The only network that has a restriction on which studios it can buy from is the CW — since it is a combination between CBS and Warner Bros, it has to have half its showed produced by CBS and half produced by the WB. (You can guess which ones the WB likes to do.)
But, of course, when I said the networks will continue to "make" shows, I meant "buy and air" them.
