Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Granted, it's an 'inspird by' fic, but a good one.
Re the music discussion, this reminded me of this thing I realized with Steve's musical preferences (tl; dr, he really likes African American musicians):
So in Winter Soldier, Steve is listening to a jazz album (forget who wrote it- Coltrane?) and it's something that he bonds over with Fury. And he also seems to be very receptive to Sam's suggestion of Marvin Gaye.
And via what I guess I'd call transitive property, Sousa in Agent Carter is also instructive, since he's basically what Steve would be like without super-powers. We learn that he likes to go to "colored" clubs to listen to music and I think he's supposed to be understood as something of an (OG) hipster.
lol...I have a hard time to see Sousa of all people as a hipster, but yeah. They have to be to be as open minded in this period.
This reminds me of a fanfic in which Bruce approaches Steve over his "racism". Basically he uses the word "Negro", brags all about going to the cinema with "his Negro friend" (Sam) aso. Turns out though, that Cap is actually not racist at all, he is just excited about finally being able to go where ever he wants with whoever he wants without having to worry about any "no blacks" rules, and he actually uses the word Negro because back in his day there was apparently a movement to reclaim the word in a positive context and he is/was a big reader of civil rights related publications. He ends up schooling Bruce in black history.
Anyway I can actually see Steve reading and liking especially the more underground stuff...he is an artist after all.

If you're thinking of the track that plays when Fury is in Steve's apartment, it was Harry James, who was white.
I wouldn't be surprised if Steve did listen to Coltrane, though. In fact, that whole era of jazz slowly melding into funk/soul would be thematically right up his alley - especially post Winter Soldier. Lots of soul searching, often politically minded, semi-spiritual figures

"Why 50?" Because I feel bucky will come over and over to adapt to the modern world....on the other hand it seen bucky adapt way better than steve because of it, funny about it.
Actually, considering how many mission hydra use it, I imagine steve teaching him about famous revolucionary figures and bucky saying he kill some of them, leading to and awkard silence.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"So Guardians of the Galaxy 3 production has been moved all the way back to 2021, which means it wouldn't come out until 2022.
This doesn't bode well IMO. By this time, despite them promising to use James Gunn's script, it will have been butchered all to hell by rewrites. This was meant to be the set-up for the future of the cosmic universe, but they're already doing The Eternals, so obvs. the whole story of the movie will be changed. There's a good chance the Guardians' story in Avengers 4 will be altered as well because of this. And who knows if the cast will want to stick around that long to do a project they don't even really want to do?
But I could be wrong. Thoughts?

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.It's a bit late to alter the Guardians' role in Avengers 4 in a very significant way, given that they're already wrapping up at this point. I could see them doing a few small reshoots or something, but they're absolutely not delaying Avengers 4 - there's too much money in it.
Also that. Delays are to be expected, even encouraged, in situations with huge upheavals like this.

Well, I figure they would have just done the reshoots to change the Guardians' story during the regular reshoots, alongside all the others.
You're right about the delay though, probably a good idea.
This would, for instance, give Dave Bautista a chance to do one last run with the WWE like he wanted. It's still iffy on whether or not he'll even come back though
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.Idle thought: You know what the best reason for Cap to die in Avengers 4 is? The legacy.
I want Captain America 4 to be a buddy cop movie about Sam and Bucky learning to tolerate each other to carry on Steve's mission.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.

And I kinda imagine black widow like ballet...but only when she does alone with anyone see it, a thing that is her alone.
