Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I hear it get ripped on every time I'm hear...
...so are you saying that TV Tropes is once again skewing my perception of things?
Cause if so, stop ruining my life Website I spend too much time on!
One Strip! One Strip! That's Phase 4. Once the Fox merger is complete, there will be a final X-Men film where Onslaught smashes the MCU and FoX-Men universes together, resulting in a cosmic retcon that retroactively causes mutants to have been in the MCU for decades.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Wait would it just be "The Last Avenger" or would it be "Avengers: The Last Avenger"? Either way I don't see it working.
This song needs more love. Most likely, Ruffalo said "the last Avengers" and is just making a fuss of it to misdirect.
"All you Fascists bound to lose.""I only know one truth... it's time for the Avengers... to end."
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyHere is the recording of his unbleeped title.
I think he actually says "The Last Avengers." Which also makes sense.
- Kamala: Something inside me has always been there. But now it's awake. And I'm afraid. Terrigenesis is a very scary thing, after all. I don't know what it is or what to do with it. And I need help.
- Steve: You need a teacher. I cannot teach you.
- Kamala: Why not? I've seen your daily routine. You're not busy.
- Steve: I will never train another generation of Avengers. I came to the Blue Area of the Moon to die. It's time for the Avengers to end.
Hmm...
While comics-accurate, not sure how I feel about already establishing that there's civilizations and life in general within the quantum realm. I rather like it as an unforgiving, lifeless plane behind the curtain of normal spacetime that you're simply not supposed to be in no matter how alien and non-euclidean you think you are.
But perhaps that was why the scene was cut. It's a bit late in the film to drop "Oh, yeah, there's also sapient alien life down here" alongside all the stuff with Janet's powers. Maybe if they go back into the quantum realm in later films it can be explored then.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I can tell it was cut mostly because that point of the movie is very fast paced and very tense as it snowballs into the finale, but that scene is rather slow, quiet and unrelated to the rapidly unfolding plot going on around them.
I really like the worldbuilding, that there's a whole universe just outside of humanity's perception or ability to interact (with Jan as, effectively, the Microverse's Tarzan), and it opens up a lot of avenues, but that just wasn't the place for it. They could've put a hint of it a stinger, but the after credits scenes were... already reserved... this time around.
If they're going to set up the Microverse, they'll probably do it in the next film. And I hope they do: it's stuff like that that keeps the universe growing and stops it from feeling smaller.

What about Avengers: Heroes Reborn?
