Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Some more
Avengers 4 leaks
with Iron Man, War Machine and Hawkeye's new looks.
If Infinity War homages Berserk, then what might Avengers 4 homage? Madoka? Steins;Gate?

Clearly, Thanos is every Jojo Villain rolled into one...or at least the Stand using ones.
Hell, once he gets the Time Stone, he arguably has Bites the Dust.
I guess Cap would be Jonathon if he lived past that last encounter with Dio too.
One Strip! One Strip!Does dropping a moon on Tony count?
Cause he did that. I think that's ROAD ROLLA DA!!!! UP TO ELEVEN!!!
One Strip! One Strip! If there are Fandom Rivalries (because it's stated on the pages) between the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the DC Extended Universe, the Star Wars franchise (including the instance of The Last Jedi) and the Fox films, how much of these fandoms actually have a majority hater to fan/neutral ratio for these franchises (haters to inter-franchise fans ratio)? Because if these really have a Fandom Rivalry, then all of these franchises would earn the hatred that is just as vocal (if not, more) as the Hatedoms against Minecraft, Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The MCU having entire pages for Internet Backdraft would've caused a hatred much worse than MLP:Fi M. The Fandom Rivalry between these franchise would be defined as a "near universal hatred of another franchise in one franchise, and so forth.", meaning the sheer level of entries would warrant a level of Rule of Cautious Editing Judgement beyond Twilight.

So I'm brain storming the Disney streaming mini series.
While the actors for Rhodey, Sam Wilson and Vision are affordable on a game of throne like budget, their super suits or powers aren't so much, but that opens up to have minor roles in other projects.
Characters who I think would work on that kind of budget for a mini series would be Valkyrie, Bucky, Peggy Carter (again), Wong Okeyo, Shuri, and Hawkeye (Though the actor might become too expensive after his next Bourne film)
I was going to say the Nova Corps, but it turns out that John C Riley is actually horrifyingly expensive.
Okay first Loki I think could either be set prior to Thor 1, Sif and the Warriors 3 could easily be supporting characters in that era, or I think most interestingly you could go for the two years between Thor and Avengers Assemble where he's MIA in space. Just have him wandering the universe. There's not much opportunity for him to cross over with established characters... Any of the Starjammers, Nebula or even Peter Quill would be doable on the budget. (Nebula's make up is really time intensive, but her actress is shockingly underpaid). Or I guess you could set it after Infinity War but, I'm not ready for him to cheat the evtns of that film yet.
Scarlet Witch has a lot more freedom. You could set it with Petrio before Age of Ultron when they were under Hydra, during the year between Ao U and Civil War with Vision, Sam and Rhodey in minor supporting roles, or just before Infinity War where she and Vision are in hiding and Vision is conviently make up free. I think any is interesting. I absolutely want to see her delve into actual magic. Have Wong turn up why not. You could possibly do the magic kids plot, but I think it would probably have to be something thrust upon her rather than a desicion she makes entirely herself, because otherwise it would seem really rushed for her to want kids so out of the blue. (though to be fair, she has lot her family)
I think Sif and her late friends would almost certainly be folded into being supporting characters in a Valkyrie project as Valkyrie is the breakout character. However you could literally set their stories at any point in the Marvel timeline. Valkyrie could also be set pre Ragnarock or post infinity War. Again, surviving members of the starjammers, Peter Quill and or Nebula could appear within the budget. If Thor does retire to be king, it would great to see her suddenly be the hero of asgard and dealing with being a protector of the realm. Again after so many years of being literal trash.
Bucky. I think setting it when he was brain washed would be boring? Have flash backs to it sure. Toby Jones will surely love to return. Flash back to WWII as well and have Peggy be there. But I guess the obvious time to set it is in the two years between Winter Soldier and Civil War were he's walking the earth and regaining his memories. You could have him bump into anyone. Maybe Toby Jones as a robot with a telivision in his stomach. Sam Wilson was actively looking for him during this time as well, so that's an obvious moment.
Okeyo and Shuri are a bit difficult, because Wakanda would be expensive to shoot exterior scenes in. Sets are fine, but really you'd want to see them out in the world... And Okeyo is meant to be the monarch's body guard. If there's a timeskip between Infinity War and Avengers 4 you could set it there and literally have Shuri be queen regent and jet around the world. Honestly that sounds like a lot of fun.
Wong is Wong. Show me him tending to the library stacking the shelves and I'd pay to see it.
Hawkeye blatently only deserves a shoe to give us Kate Bishop. You could explore his comic book bad guy past. He does spend Ao U to Infinity War in retirement. Honestly just set it in the present day. Give him a Kate to mentor, and make him go deaf.
I have spun my Bucky and Falcon idea further...how about this:
Bucky decides to seek out the families of his victims out of a desire to, well, give them whatever they need, be it closure, be it the opportunity to rage at him, be it any kind of help. Basically he wants to face his past. And because Sam is a good friend to Cap, he goes with him on the little road trip.
This way you could address themes like guilt, cause and effect, ways to deal with grief aso, while also showing how Bucky was an awesome assassin in the flashbacks.
Found this nice fan art teaming up Killmonger and Bushmaster.
Don't worry it's safe for work.

Iron Man 2. There's some threat of collateral damage toward the end, but for the most part the only person in danger the entire film is Tony himself, whether it be by palladium poisoning or an angry Russian dude trying to 1-v-1 him.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
