Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I know this is hella late, but Thorg was adapted in a cartoon.
The downside was that the cartoon in question sucked.
Framework Ward was a nice idea. He was a pretty cool guy and really showed the disastrous consequences of Garrett approaching the real Ward in prison, instead of a decent person like Coulson or Victoria Hand.

Its Captain Marvel & Hulk fighting Ares from one of the Avengers anime.
Also if you scroll down a bit (of course) you'll find a moron or two praising anime Carol for being more "emotive" than movie Carol was in her entire revealing trailer.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Honestly, though Ego is far and away one of the most evil characters in the MCU, I can feel at least a tiny bit of sympathy towards him. I totally believe some elements of his backstory, like that he was all alone for countless years, and he can't relate to any other people he's ever known on a truly deep level because their lives are so incredibly short compared to his.
Ego has a tragic element to him in that his entire course of action comes from not wanting to be drifting alone the only one of his kind without purpose. It’s just that he refuses to accept any conclusion not as grandiose as he views himself. And the one time he almost did, with Peter’s mother, he gave in to fear and killed her.
Ego remind to Snape on some point: he wants companionship and to be with someone..but he cant just put aside is own damn nature in order to get it, therefore dooming themselves.
And Frameward feel more the show putting the stuff in their place with ward before letting them go: to show that while he was a pretty awfull man. He was more a product of Garret shaping that just him being an idiot.
Which it make sense since the same season give us Hydrafitz and BOY. that man is terrying as hell.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I Also I believe that he did love Peter's mom (or at least she was the closest that he ever came to loving someone other than himself). And in a twisted way, him killing her proved his love (or at least his own weird version of it) for her, because as he says if he went back to see her again, he would never have left her and his "life's work" would have been for nothing. So he killed her to "remove the temptation" and I get the sense that it's the closest that he's ever come to feeling bad about killing someone else. Also I believe that his offer for him and Peter to take over the universe together was also genuine.
It gives him some dimension to his character, but at the same time shows how skewed/twisted his worldview truly is (yet it also makes sense WHY said worldview is that way at the same time).

I actually agree with all of this. Meredith is seemingly the only one where he actually considered such a thing. It's clear that something about her clicked with him. That's the true sadness of his actions: Ego doesn't even realize what he denied himself through killing her. The happiness he sought was right there, and he was too far up his own ass (and a monstrous Sociopath, don't forget) to see it.

Hmmm. That'd be an interesting twist.
Is not much sociopathy thant being a coward.
After all if you take all the sci fi element, Ego is pretty much the "dad that come because he need something" storyline we see in show like fresh prince of bel air or steven universe, Ego represent the lack of comiment because he dosent want to deal with the responsability.
So you can see the same here: Ego was afraid of losing is power and is own powerfull and unique nature so he kill her, it show in his last words to peter.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"
Pretty much, it was the same "dad come out of nowhere because he wants something". storyline, pretty meh episode but the point still.
hell I will said fresh princeis better because will dad DID spend time with himandit look they were getting along...until he leave against for no reason, breaking will heart in one of the most heart crushing moments in the series.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Something I was thinking about,Ego probably murdered other celestials unfortunate enough to cross his path,so no wonder he's all alone,he kept killing them!
Also, had Fox not mucked up Fantastic 4 we might have seen the rivalry between him and Galactus play on screen, alas some things will only remain in the cartoons/cartoons
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverI assume if Ego has actually met other Celestials, he wouldn’t have ended up the way he was.
After all, his Start of Darkness involves him having nobody but himself for eons, and then when he finally met someone else he was so used to himself and so powerful in comparison to them that he couldn’t relate. If he had met someone as powerful as himself, he probably still would’ve bee specist towards non-Celestial life, but he would’ve also found d the companionship he wanted.
I doubt he would’ve killed them, except accidentally when he enacted his master plan.
Granted, we only know of two other Celestials at this point: the dude whose head became Knowhere, and Eson who only makes a split second appearance.
Since Captain Marvel is likely going to take the Guardians’ place as Marvel’s cosmic film series once Guardians 3 comes out, I’ve been hoping she meets one in one of her sequels.

Well the Eternals film is going forward and they're heavily tied to the Celestials.
Oh I forgot to comment on Disney confirming that they're going forward with James Gunn's Guardians 3 script. Which, seems weird to me that they'd commit to that before they even have a director, but what ever. They must have a lot of confidence in it.
Phayla-Vell better be in it Gunn, you promised me.

Hela?
Just Makima.
