Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I've never heard of someone being asked by Disney to remove speculation that turned out to be wrong. Sometimes a spade is a spade.
And again, they would not be bringing Brie Larson onto GMA 7 months before the film opens and before an actual trailer dropped if it weren't to actually show some footage.
I'm not expecting to be wowed by this trailer. Mainly because I'm expecting it to actually be a teaser. If there is any more substance to it than, like, a floating logo and some footage of Brie Larson wearing her costume, I'll be genuinely surprised.
To this end, Disney may be trying to tamp down the hype because of the inevitable backlash if everyone's like "CAPTAIN MARVEL TRAILER WHOOO" and then it's just thirty seconds of Brie and logo.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.It was A New Hope that people were buying tickets to unrelated movies to see the trailer, then walking out after without bothering to watch the other movie.
Ah, the days before YouTube.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.
Kill count is useless if you dont stop the villian.
In the end is the problem of avenger movies finishing with big climatic battles were raw power is favoure way more than being sneaky, widow kinda suffer the same problem.
Also I watch part of the first thor movie and is visually the best of phase 1, asgard look gorgous.
But....is REALLY hard to watch Thor telling Odin he is a good king AND and good father after ragnarok.....is just painfull.
If anything it show how disconect the first movie is related to the third, being diferent directors and the like.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I'd argue that stopping the big bad isn't the end all. Hawkeye took down his share of mooks and often shows ingenuity and cleverness. He pulls his tiny weight.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
This.
It’s not about stopping the Big Bad. It’s about making sure that the rest of the world is still there afterwards.

Kinda, Odin being a bad father is one thing, him being a imperalistic colonizer is.....another, it feel it cross a moral line that the movies(even ragnerok) didnt try to recognize.
And I dont know, killing mooks is a given for superheroes, so Im not as impress for that.
Granted doing that to loki? impresive as hell, I will give to him that.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"The assumption that even when we don't see Clint's arrows hitting someone that they are still kills is a fair one.
One thing that can be said about him is that having a ridiculously good aim is too firm a part of his character. I admit, I'm surprised at just how much bang he gets for his buck, taking out so many with so little.
And yeah, the Loki thing should be earning him a lot more props. It was a good move. Sure it was Hulk who took him down in the end, but Clint set that one up.
One Strip! One Strip!Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one.

Of course they are. Captain Marvel is a stage performance. Hadn't you heard?

Granted, I lean more towards it dropping, it is time to start the advertising, but I wouldn't take anything as confirmed at this point.
