Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Nick Fury managed to drop the pager before it was dusted. Stormbreaker's handle is no longer part of Groot anymore than our hair and skin are no longer part of us when we shed them. The weapons might depend on how quick their owners dropped them.
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead? The Soul Stone was a large part of it too, so I suspect it depends on what each individual considers "part of them." Clothes are included (sure, it's not the most important part of who you are, but it is part of you), but weapons are usually more temporary. Spidey's suit is definitely part of him, metaphorically, as is Bucky's arm. I suspect if Cap had been dusted while holding his shield, the shield would have disappeared too.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Fun random idea. Not really a prediction, even, just a passing thought. Let's say, provided Infinity War pt 2 does a Bad Future first and then uses time travel to undo it, they could do a thing kind of like Justice League did with Vandal Savage in "Hereafter."
Basically, the world is going to shit after the snap, and we get a bunch of shots of how bad it is a la Flashpoint or something (outside of this specific idea, I expect this to happen anyway). But then we get a news snippet about a surviving villain, who redeemed themselves and stepped up to try and help people in a world turned upside down. The heroes remember this even after they undo the timeline, and when it comes time for a Thunderbolts / Masters of Evil storyline they try to reach out to that villain who then becomes one of the villains to turn against the Evil Plan.
I could see that working with Vulture, for example. Like, we find out Vulture has been protecting New York in Spider-Man's absence. And then when everything is done, someone tells Peter about it and Pete remembers it when the Sinister Six hopefully happens even though Vulture doesn't.

- Nat: We can figure someting out. We've come back from worse than this.
- Rhodey: No, we haven't.
- Nat: Do you mind? I'm trying to be optimistic here.
- Steve: Nat's right. We need to head back to the Quinjet and regroup.
- Bruce: ...heh. Hehe. Hahaha.
- Rhodey: There something funny about this?
- Bruce: No, it's just... have you ever had one of their days where everything is so stressful that all you can do is laugh at how petty the little barbs life throws at you are? Like, I'm already down, but sure, you can kick me too.
- Steve: We'll get through this.
- Bruce: Steve. Sam had the keys to the Quinjet.
Idle thought: there's a clever Fridge Brilliance implication regarding the Black Panther suit. In the wake of her father dying in an explosion during a meeting at the U.N., Shuri designed a suit for her brother that he could have at all times in case such an occasion ever happened again.

Going to advise caution at this stage.
All we know is that Brie Larson will appear on GMA on Tuesday. While trailers have debuted on GMA in the past, and given when Captain Marvel releases we should be getting an initial teaser trailer sooner rather than later, all we can safely assume is that Brie Larson will be on GMA this coming Tuesday, nothing else whatsoever.
Now I'm not going to fall over in shock if the trailer does end up dropping on Tuesday during GMA, I simply advise to not get too hyped up for it until we get more explicit confirmation.
Back to the drawing board
All she needs to do is create an infinity proof suit!
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHey!
...oh....
Welp! That's the way your brother crumbles...
...I'm gonna burn for that one.
One Strip! One Strip!*After Shuri hears the news*
Shuri: Okay someone bring me a dustpan and a lot of glue.
This song needs more love.I mean, this is based on comic books, so it's not out of the question that they could just go out there and collect every individual dust particle that used to be T'Challa, atomically bond them together, and then blast them with photo-nuclear hyper-magnetized gamma rays until they form into a living person again.

The person who initially posted that we are getting the trailer was subsequently told to remove his Tweet by Disney
, which would be odd if they weren't actually gonna show it there.
Also, just logistically, they wouldn't have Brie Larson on to promote the movie so far in advance if there weren't a trailer. Usually when someone gets called in for one of these talkshows and it's not to reveal a trailer, it's because the movie is close to release.
