Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In my headcanon he reactivated a pre-set spell, the same one which was used to get Thor to earth. So he could only send people to earth.
The MCU seems to consider the Nine Realms to just be nine planets in space. You could totally get to Svartalfheim by hopping in a spaceship and trucking it over there.
Due to this, the Bifrost is basically an intergalactic bullet train powered by space magic.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Based on Dark World and Loki's secret shortcuts it seems like the nine realms are the places easiest to ram a bifrost through. Places where space-time is already thin
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOne of Loki's secret shortcuts apparently took him to Thanos, so I wouldn't bet on that.

The better to conquer with
And since Asgard is in the fucking middle of nowhere and the Nine Realms don't seem to have their own bifrost technology, Asgard could loot and plunder without serious fear of reprisal
Until Odin got cold feet

Michael B. Jordan gives his view on how a Thanos vs Kilmonger fight would play out.

Ever seen that illustration for Equality v. Equity
?
A Thanos v. Killmonger fight has me thinking of that.
- Thanos: The Snap was fair and balanced.
- Killmonger: Fair and balanced only punishes folk who've done nothing wrong their whole lives. You hurt the oppressed just as much as the oppressors! It all equals right back to zero and nobody's helped.
- Thanos: I admit, I hadn't thought about—
- Killmonger: What you gotta do is chop of all the tall people's legs so then nobody can see the baseball game!

Killmonger with Panther powers probably wouldn’t last much longer than Cap and T’challa did against Thanos, but since Jordan describes him as a planner, it’d be interesting to see what kind of trap he’d assemble for batting Thanos. Perhaps akin to the climax of The Dark Knight Returns.
Well, a full letter of condemnation of Disney's firing of James Gunn came out this morning, signed by the full cast of the Guardians crew and Sean Gunn, James' brother, posted to Karen Gillian's official Twitter.

Y'know, I can't shake the feeling that Gunn's firing was just a stunt by Disney to get the Fox deal approved, but that's my thought on the matter.
Also, don't read any comments on the actual tweet, very few are actually supporting it. It's rather disgusting.
