Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

A Hawkeyes show would be neat as a kind of anti-Arrow
Tonally and such. Family man Clint passes on his knowing to Kate Bishop, a superhero because she's just too cool not to be one
They fight crime and tracksuit draculas

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThey would never be able to afford Jeremy Renner for that one. But then, in a way this doesn't matter. I mean, there are two possible scenarios: Either the MCU will go on forever, in which case you can do every version of Hawkeye imaginable, you just have to use a characters not named Clint Barton for that (we already had a pretty good representation of the Hawkeye/Mockingbird romance with Hunter as stand-in in Agents of Shield after all), or eventually Marvel will have to reboot, in which case they will have to create another version of the character to keep it fresh anyway.
Agreed. In fact, if not for the fact that it would take forever and young actors don’t stay young forever, I’d love for them to do an Avengers thing where they introduce a bunch of kids growing up in a superhero world and then put them together in a Young Avengers movie.
Another option would be to twist the Avengers odd by having most of the team be from other movies, but have the focus character be specifically a Young Avengers character (effectively making those films that character’s movies) and have that character be Kamala.
While going through Reddit posts, I was looking at Fantastic Four fancasts and almost everyone wants Blunt and Krasinski to be Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic while Thing and Torch were more varied while the kids had Noah Schnapp and that kid that's going to play young Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel as Franklin and Valeria. Any reason why so many fans are lobbying for Blunt and Krasinski?

yes really,I'm not pulling your legs
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverOkay, so here's an interview with Feige himself: https://screenrant.com/ant-man-wasp-kevin-feige-interview/
Honestly, makes me a bit upset that Power Pack is just being pitched rather than actual preproduction, but it makes sense to me. I assume that if this Fox deal goes through, Marvel would want their first family in the forefront.
Eh, when Feige talks about a Family film, he doesn't necessarily mean a film featuring a family but one which would work particularly well for families. Ant-man has already filled this niche, so there is no need for either Power Pack or The Fantastic Four to do so.
But The Fantastic Four can certainly fill the explorer angle if handled right.
I'm actually surprised they didn't try to push Power Pack as the new Fantastic Four when Perlmutter tried to suppress the FF thanks to Fox and their terrible movie just like he tried to gas the mutants to death in favor of the Inhumans. Then again, Alex and Franklin have ties to FF through the Future Foundation.
Speaking of Power Pack, anyone make a fancasting for them? Fancasts are my new obsession right now.

So, after Thanos is said and done, who do you guys think will be the next Big Bad? Personally, I'm hoping for the cosmic heroes and the magical heroes can deal with. That's right, I'm hoping for the arrival of Shuma-Gorath and the Many-Angled Ones.

I like Clint. He is fun. I especially love to have a Superhero who is also a family man.
