Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Last episode Cloak and Dagger delved deep into New Orleans culture, so if that's your thing, there is the offer for you.
But let's see which parts of the US Marvel has already covered:
New York, naturally, with the Defenders, the Avengers and Spider-Man
Malibu/California/San Francisco with Ironman, Ant-man and The Runaways
Washington at least for the length of one movie….
West Virginia in The incredible Hulk
Whatever desert village Thor was set in
They have actually covered quite a bit of ground...I mean, compared to how little we get to see of the rest of the world….

Sure. Originally they were not just in other parts of the US but also in another country every other week. But they have cut the budget so much that they spend more and more time on base with every passing season.
Fun fact, technically the US army invaded Canada in Agents of Shield, because there was one episode in which they came to a base located there to arrest Coulson.
Kevin Feige talks a bit about the Eternals movie.
Kevin Feige: Well, one of the cool things about that property and what Jack Kirby did with it and what's been done with it in recent years is it does tie into they're called Eternals, they've been around for a long time. You know? There's this notion of all of these myths and legends that we know from ancient times, were they inspired by the Eternals?
Screen Rant: Right.
Kevin Feige: Were they Eternals? It's a very ... you know, it's an ancient aliens kind of sci-fi trope that we think would be fun to explore someday.
By the way, about the LGBT+ article linked a bit back. I have no idea why the article chose to interpret Feige's words that there will only be two LGBT+ characters, one new and one we've already seen. Kevin's quote is plural for both categories, he says there will be "Both ones you’ve seen and ones you haven’t seen."

I'm a little late, but I want to continue on the marvel/disney mashup conversation.
Aladin as Star-lord.
Calhoun (COD sargeant from Wrek it Ralph) as Gamora. Stitch as Rocket.
Maui as Drax.
As much as I hate the fella, can't think of anyone else but Olaf as Groot.
Pocahontas as Mantis.
...
And Mary Poppins as Yondu y'all!!!!
... Ok, you got me, I just wanted to make that joke.
As for Disney villains, which Marvel villain woulg go for each? I could only think a perfect one, the hun from Mulan as Wishplash.
And Mickey can't be Doctor Strange, we all know who he would really be.

Pocahantas as Mantis?
For villains
Gaston/Kraven. Both are arrogant hunters.
Hades/Loki. Both are actually more villainous than their myth counterparts.
Scar/Killmonger. People have compared T'Challa to Simba so why not?
Maleficent/Hela. Similar color scheme and personality.
Jafar/Stane. They're both supposedly loyal allies that reveal themselves as villains and seek to claim a "kingdom".
Hans/Grant Ward. Herioc love interests revealed to be villains.
Even if Ant-Man and the Wasp is well-recieved, it will still be infected with Sequelitis at the box office.

Just Makima. They are talking about the Eternals, so it wouldn't be the Hercules you are thinking of.

Spider Man: Homely face.
One Strip! One Strip!
