Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He's blurred in the background when the Guardians are sneaking around in Knowhere, right before they confront Thanos.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Notably, the collection he appears in isn't real. It's a reproduction generated by the Reality Gem. So he might not actually be in the Collector's possession; it's possible that Thanos just really likes the show.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Honestly, after this trailer I an starting to wonder if they are trying to pull one over us...I still think that Janet Van Dyne being aged after they established in the first movie that time works differently in the microverse doesn't make sense to me. I wouldn't put it past them to give out a wrong name for the role Cathrine Zeto Jones plays so that we don't figure out who actually has the role...
Either that or they rightly assume that the majority of the audience has no idea that Janes is supposed to be in this movie....
Agreed.
The simplest explanation is that they want to keep the circumstances of her reappearance ambiguous for the marketing, so they are hiding her. Marvel has hid characters in the marketing before. The Vision for example barely appeared in Age of Ultron's marketing despite being a crucial character in the actual movie.
What there is no precedence for is Marvel announcing an actor/actress is playing a significant character and then it turns out they aren't. While stuff is hidden in the casting on occasion, it's always either pretending they are playing an original character by casting them under an MCU-specific alias, or they just don't give us any name at all.
Or in other words, the only way I'd entertain the notion of Michelle Pfeiffer not playing the original Wasp is if she was playing a character of substantially more significance to the Ant-Man franchise. And I feel that's a category of zero.

Including you and me.
