Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Eh, I doubt that this will happen....
Anyway, I don't quite care which character Marvel picks, because at the end of the day I had no idea if I would like Got G either, and I adored them. I mean, I would have never expected to be that invested in the fate of a freaking raccoon.
I am mostly wondering in which genre they intend to dive this time around.
I still think she should get a brave and the bold style team up cartoon
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean. Infinity War spoiler, but they already had Thor curbstomp Thanos so I don't necessarily see the problem with that. His fancy new axe is more powerful than the completed Infinity Gauntlet.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
Well, I mean, considering there might be some really important stuff for Avengers 4 in it, you have to see it.
I'm just saying maybe they'll do an interpretation that clicks with you. It's not impossible right?
One Strip! One Strip!
Thor throws the axe and Thanos blasts it with the Gauntlet. The axe blows through Thanos's Infinity Kamehameha to hit him. The axe straight-up overpowers the Infinity Gauntlet.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Yeah, I'll admit I raised an eyebrow at that.
Maybe he didn't use full power, but...I don't know why he wouldn't, so...
Eh, it doesn't really matter. Still a bit weird, though.

Oh God! Natural light! My apologies if this is been posted before, but holy crap, Chris Evans is really good at stunts for an actor.
I have been seeing a lot people still want the Deadpool films retconned in the MCU. Despite the fact that would ruin the MCU lore, making the idea that superpowered beings are a recent thing into a joke. The first film was already problematic enough with the X-Men and mutants being known to the public for years, with the latter being shown as victims of human trafficking. The second film made it much worse with there being a mutant prison and a rehabilitation hospital for mutants. In addition to being even more intertwined with previous X-films with cameos of characters, Essex Corp being a major antagonist, and time traveling to the final battle of X-Men: Origins Wolverine.
There seems to be this horribly flawed idea that since Deadpool can break the 4th wall that excuses making glaring plot holes.
EDIT: Let me explain the reason why using the fourth breaking as an excuse is a bad idea. Malcolm In The Middle had the title character break the 4th wall in pretty much every episode but outside of that the series still had logic and reason to it. Deadpool is that type of 4th wall breaker and not Looney Tunes characters who can saw off Florida. Doing some nonesense like that ruins the tone.

Someone noticed
that Tobias Funke from "Arrested Development" appears among the Collector's collections in "Infinity War".
This means that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in the same universe as Arrested Development which featured John Munch from "Homicide: Life On The Street" which had a crossover with "St. Elsewhere" meaning...
...The Marvel Cinematic Universe takes places in Tommy Westphall's mind! Yep, no need to be sad about all the dead superheroes in "Infinity War". They're all part of a dream anyway!

I'm alright with Carol being really powerful so long as they don't just have her curb stomp Thanos the minute she shows up.
This song needs more love.
