Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

As far as "last things you see before you die" go, having your presumed-dead war buddy show up, not having aged at all, is a pretty high on the "Last Second Mind Fuck" scale.
Oh God! Natural light!I think it was another interesting detail that makes it really tragic. When Howard says "Sergeant Barnes?" Bucky actually hesitates for a moment before finishing him off. So besides the fact that both times someone recognized him in the field it got a reaction out of him, it implies the possibility that he might've escaped HYDRA a lot sooner. If only Howard had had a little more time to talk to him...
I mean, I'd like to believe that Howard isn't kicking it in Nazi Hell, but maybe that's just me.
If Steve or Tony ever dies, they're going to be met in the afterlife by this exchange.
- Howard: I've missed you so much. It's good to see you. I've been wanting to ask you something for so long.
- Hero: What?
- Howard: Was that seriously Bucky that murdered me? What the hell?

Probably but if they do then I want them to dust him mid-story and then when he comes back he continues talking like nothing ever happened.

This song needs more love.- Cap: Howard, here’s the thing... [explains what the fuck is going on]
- Tony: Mom I missed you so much. Also I tried to avenge you and kill that guy who who killed you. Also also I fucked up. A lot.
- Bucky: [silently stares in shock, grief, guilt, PTSD, etc.]
- Howard: What the fuck man?!

But Vulture managed to raise the stakes in the film, when he discovered Spidey's true ID and buried him under some rubble, without that and Liz being his daughter, the Vulture wold have lost something. Mysterio needs to raise the stakes from Act 1 to the Climax, if Mysterio doesn't play some cruel mind games with Spidey, beyond just framing him, I think you are missing something. Chameleon can frame Spidey, but driving Spidey mad is something Mysterio can excel at. Mysterio should make some real efforts to psychologically attack Spidey.
@ 86715 J79, this only movie where Mysterio will be a Big Bad, so I think this would the greatest hits version of the character, combining elements from several different stories, there is no reason Mysterio couldn't frame Spidey for crimes and try to drive him mad in the same movie.

I think I prefer that take, the one where it's because he's doing it for ego stroking, or the one where whatever good traits Steve has aren't the same as being a good king, to the "Steve is too much of a Blood Knight" one. Not like it has no backing in the other films, but it feels like another case of Whedon doing what he personally thinks is interesting while disregarding other people's films.

“Are you above or below angry bees?”
... and then Steve beats the crap out of him at the end of Civil War.
