Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

That sounds like a bit of a pipe dream, but I am looking forward to that iconic Avengers theme again at least. Some individual leitmotifs might make it in too, like the GOTG theme or Iron Man 3's theme.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Okay everyone, first screenings are wrapping up and spoilers that don't sound fake are trickling out. If you don't want to find out how Mickey Mouse steals the Infinity Gauntlet and beats up Goku, exercise extreme caution if you weren't already.

This song needs more love. The Soul Stone's location is discovered to be the mythical land of Flavortown.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Another fun theory. Everyone's always talking about "what if one of the Avengers leaves Earth and joins the Guardians," but what if one of the Guardians joins the Avengers and stays on Earth for a while (Mantis, imo, being the best candidate since she isn't cemented into their dynamic yet).
It'd definitely add something very different to any future teams to have a literal alien there.
I say we issue a law that no spoilers be put up in this thread...
With the punishment for breaking it being torture.
No potholes for any of you. Now'll you'll never know how serious I am.
One Strip! One Strip! No one saw the crossover with Homestuck coming until it was too late to stop it.

This song needs more love.Speaking of bread, I hope there's SOME kind of callback to the shawarma scene in this film or the next one.
Like, even if it's just a recreation of the original shawarma scene but now really crowded with Rhodey, Sam, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket, Mantis, Nebula, Valkyrie, Strange, Wong, Bucky, Wanda, T'challa, Okoye, and Shuri eating there too (And Vision just kinda watching, and Stan Lee carving up the meat for them).
It's just become the Avengers' go-to place for a bite to eat after a long day's work.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! It's a running gag for me that whenever a film comes out that has its own spoiler thread I always accidentally open the spoiler tag absentmindedly just before the movie comes out, during which I read exactly one spoiler before realizing my mistake - often something important but entirely out of context so I'm both disappointed and confused.
Luckily, it hasn't happened yet this time. But hey, there's still time!

After rewatching GOTG 2, it reminded me of one of my biggest wishes for Infinity War.
As a guy who adores Leitmotif, I want this movie to be a musical Marvel. All the different character themes and styles mixing together and all.
I'd especially love it if they did a thing where the style of music and the overal sound direction changes depending on which characters are being followed at the time: the old-style heroic music for Cap's scenes, GOTG's unique scenes-storyboarded-to-real-world-music bit for their scenes, Panther's pan-African stylings, etc.
Culminating in characters having their themes rearranged in the styles of other characters' music (psychadelic T'Challa, hard rock Cap, African Guardians, etc), though that may be hoping for too much.
