Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

He tries, but tends to get shit regardless of whether he's right or wrong.
He didn't, Stane did behind his back and Tony put a stop to it when he learned. Tony (and Bruce) were not in control of the circumstances that created Ultron and when they did it correctly created Vision.

Meh. I still blame Tony.
It's fun.
I mean, you're right about the Ultron thing, but Tony blames himself anyway, and without the knowledge that Ultron was going to happen in some form anyway, so does everyone else.
One Strip! One Strip! Also, truth be told I'm kind of annoyed with trying to absolve Tony of Ultron? The man fucked up with that, it shouldn't be that hard to get. The issue is that when he does the exact same thing, he's rewarded for it and has no development or growth because Whedon shit the bed writing Age of Ultron. Vision's creation isn't a plus for Tony, it's a minus (and a minus for Whedon too).
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?See, I do think Ultron isn't totally Tony's fault.
Like he said, he'd barely done anything, and was only three days in, then he leaves for a few minutes to have a party and suddenly Ultron comes alive and goes evil?
How did it make that big a jump in the few hours he wasn't watching? Especially since it was supposed to be a years long project.
I mean, we've all agreed that there was some kind of trap in the mind gem that would have created Ultron one way or another right?
Can't really judge the Vision thing, and I don't hate Whedon the way so many seem to now, so I'm leaving that one alone.
One Strip! One Strip!I'll agree with Adric that it's wierd that Tony's response to Ultron is to do the exact same thing again except it turns out right, but I'll also agree with Rob that while people had reservations about Ultron, thinking that it would suddenly turn into a genocidal threat is not exactly anything anyone could have possibly predicted.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"
It still is fault for using alien tech to create ultron, hell Civil war try to downplay by Zemo acusing tony of ONLY is family, and just that, because otherwise it would be imposible to him to come clean of all this.
and then there is of course wanda mind inducing tony...but let not come to that.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I can judge the Vision thing for being a major narrative mistake. Tony's supposed to have an arc about not meddling with shit, right? Vision completely shits the bed on that because instead it's "Oh lol Tony knows what he's doing after all, guys" and it's complete bullshit. Tony learns nothing and Whedon goes for a clean ending that is completely unfitting for the film.
Now obviously Tony never knew that Ultron would go all murderbot on everyone, but it's still his and Banner's actions for tampering with the Mind Stone without really knowing what it would do. They got too cocky. Also I still find it weird how people go after Tony for the Ultron deal when Banner was there too.
Actually, why was Banner there, anyways?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? It's like that old saying
Set an industrictible murder robot to catch an industrictible murder robot

Is hard to fault banner because he....somehow got in Sakaar(really how the fuck the quinjet take you there?) which it hard to do, also Ultron is frame as Tony son it become more is fault.
We need a good indesrtructive robot to beat a bad indestructive robot.

"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I think people leave Banner alone about Ultron because there's a different thing that people criticize about him from Age of Ultron and they want to balance it out.

This song needs more love.<Still likes Age of Ultron and will fight anyone who has a problem with that>
I honestly don't care about the Banner / Natasha romance, so it can't really make me mad.
One Strip! One Strip!Vision was a cereal box prize and Wanda responded to a recruitment ad.
Tragically her brother died of how proud of her he was
Hulk volunteered for what he thought was space camp
I like most of the bits
