Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Myself, I'd have Thor retiring as the King of a new Asgard (he even has the missing eye to complete the Odin transition) and Black Widow becoming the "Nick Fury" of the New Avengers.
Stark? Dead. Rogers? Dead. Fury? Dead. Hawkeye? Dead. Banner? Dead. Hill? Dead. When it comes to everyone else who isn't these two out of the OG Avengers team my opinion is:
I missed the debate on Galactus beforehand, but I've thought the Marvel Ultimate Alliance envisioning of the character has always been perfect for a live action film.
Yes. This guy right here.
I'm sick of people shitting on Hawkeye, and I'd only allow him to die when it made no one happy, that way all the people who keep saying he should die would regret it and eat their words.
...no, I'm not bitter. What makes you think that?
One Strip! One Strip! Can we get like one hero who both has a family and lives? Have him live, retire, and pass the mantle on to Kate Bishop.

This song needs more love.I wouldn't want Hawkeye to die because honestly we just went through that in Ultron, and the fact that it turned out to be a gotcha doens't really change the fact that his entire arc in that movie was made up of death flags.
Instead of the setting up the least prominent Avenger to die again, I'd rather the writers find something new to do with the character.
I liked him being surrogate dad to Wanda
Be funny if he kept dadding and somehow Peters end up hanging around asking for shaving tips
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI do believe you're thinking of Queen.
Let Hawkeye and Drax meet and see who is the Daddest of them all.

They say it themselves, that Cap appearing in flashbacks, or in the afterlife (thanks sole stone) or in an elseworlds seems highly plausible for Avengers 4 given we know nothing about it.
Also, declaring Hawkeye as canon fodder kind of goes against the reports suggesting that Clint is getting some kind of retool in this film.
I totally agree with them that the films are yet to give Vision and Scarlet Witch the focus required to justify their existence, but I always figured that was the job of the new Avengers film we'll get after this approaching blood bath. (I kind of feel like spending so little time with the post Ao U Avengers roster has been a real disservice to the intent of introducing this couple)
I think Wanda and Vision were in the West Coast Avengers at some point
Also I think Old Man Hawkeye was almost completely blind. Didn't stop him from arrowing good
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI believe that would be Peter Quill's biological father.

She had such a miserable time the first time
